ELROSA OPENS JUNE BY SINKING LAKERS

June 8, 2026

(Will struck out 8 vs. New Munich!)

Elrosa opened up their June slate with a non-traditional Todd County double-header last Saturday. At 11 am, the Saints hosted Lake Henry and beat them 9-4 before traveling to New Munich to drop an extra inning affair to the Streaks 6-5. The Saints started the day by belting out 14 hits against the Lakers as they cruised their way to victory. Jackson Peter and Blaine Fischer each clubbed RBI triples while Ashton Dingmann and Derek Wiener smacked RBI doubles to pace the offense. Ethan Mueller notched 3 hits while Peyton Winter and and Gavin Kampsen collected two hits for the navy and orange. Luke Illies started on the hill and struck out 5 over 5 innings of work before giving way to Riley Meyer who earned the win throwing 4 innings, striking out 5 and not allowing a run. In the afternoon, the Saints and Streaks battled into extra innings with New Munich winning on a walk-off. Elrosa scored three runs in the top of the 10th inning and recorded the first two outs vs. the Streaks. However a walk, a hit, and then a 3-run homerun extended the game into the 11th where New Munich eventually earned the victory. The Saints left a boat load of runners on base, 19 to be exact, and couldn't capitalize on their 8 hit performance. Elrosa drew 13 walks throughout the contest but couldn't string enough hits together to put the game away. Illies and Mueller each had 2 hits while Fischer walked 4 times. Kampsen smoked a double while Luke Dingmann drove in 2 runs with his only hit of the game. On the mound, Wyatt S. started and labored through 5 innings while striking out 4 and allowing 5 hits. Will Van Beck then tossed 5 innings and struck out 8 before giving way to Luke Dingmann who took the loss in 2/3 of an inning pitched. The Saints will lick their wounds and will be ready to rebound this weekend when they host Norway Lake-Sunburg on Friday in Elrosa, golfing in the Saints open Saturday in Brooten, and then traveling to Spring Hill on Sunday to Battle for the Keg!
