GREENWALD--If you wanna crown em', then crown 'em! Elrosa spotted New Munich 5 runs to start the game but the navy 9 wouldn't be denied as they scratched and clawed their way back for yet another comeback victory! It would take one extra frame but the cardiac kids got a walk-off single from Derek Wiener to plate Luke Dingmann with the winning run for a 6-5 win. The win guarantees the Saints the #1 seed for the upcoming Region tourney next weekend. Elrosa will take on the #2 seeded team from the County Line League (Atwater/NLS/Starbuck) at 3:30 on Saturday in Regal. Sunday, the Saints and Streaks battled in another 1 run game with all 3 contests this summer decided by a combined total of 3 runs. With Elrosa traling 5-0, Jackson Peter stayed hot at the dish and connected for another 2 run blast to trim the lead. Two innings later, Blaine Fischer lifted a 3 run blast to tie the game at 5. The home run was Fischer's 3rd hit of the game. In the 10th, Luke Dingmann reached on an error, moved to 2nd on a sac bunt from Luke Illies and sthen scampered home on Wiener's clutch RBI single. Ashton Dingmann started on the mound and gave the Saints a nice start after shaking off the first innings jitters. Dingmann labored through 4 2/3 innings before giving way to Riley Meyer who threw 3 2/3 of scoreless relief. Luke Dingmann then kept the Streaks in check with 2 scoreless frames. As a trio, the pitchers struck out 12 and only allowed 2 earned runs.

The record books continue to get rewritten as the Saints clinched their 14th SCL North Playoff championship in franchise history, including their 5th playoff title in the last 6 years. The Saints have also secured their 25th trip to the Region tournament in franchise history and their 5th straight appearance. Since the turn of the century, Elrosa has played in 20 of the 26 possible Region tournaments.
