2020 18U Provincial Team - Expression of Interest

Baseball NL is currently looking for expressions of interest from players that are interested in playing on the 2020 18U Provincial Team. This team will travel to London, Ontario August 20th – 23rd, 2020 to compete in the Baseball Canada 18U National Championships.

Any interested player should contact Head Coach Colin Abbott (colin.abbott@investorsgroup.com) as well as the Baseball NL office (baseballnl@sportnl.ca) to indicate their interest. When indicating interest, please include:

Player Name
Parent/Guardian Name
Date of Birth
Email address

For any player interested in playing on the team, there is a $300 down payment that must be made. Baseball Canada has a March 31st, 2020 deadline for commitment of provinces attending National Championships. It will be from the list of PLAYERS INTERESTED WITH PAID DOWN PAYMENTS that Baseball NL will make the decision as to whether or not to proceed with the 18U team for the 2020 season. Down payments must be made via CHEQUE (payable to Baseball NL). Players must indicate their interest, and pay the down payment ON OR BEFORE MARCH 27th, 2020.

If it is determined that there is enough interest and commitment based on the indicated player interest and paid down payment on the March 27th deadline, these down payments become non-refundable and will be used to offset any fines or financial penalties that may arise as a result of potential withdrawal after the Baseball Canada March 31st deadline. If this happens, any remaining monies AFTER fines and/or penalties are covered that are not needed will be returned to each player/parent

If it is determined that there IS NOT enough player interest, the down payments will be destroyed and not cashed.

If a player is interested and pays their down payment, it DOES NOT automatically guarantee a spot on the team. If there is enough indicated interest and paid down payments on or before the deadline, an official tryout process will take place and those interested will have to try out for the team. This Expression of Interest is being done to determine viability before committing to the financial risks that come after the March 31st, 2020 deadline. If a tryout is needed, more information will be communicated at a later date.
