Scout Sunday will be Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the 12:00 pm (Noon) Mass at St. Michael. The Scout Law says that a "Scout is Reverent" and the Scouts of all ages promise to do their "Duty to God". These values strengthen youth character in their family, community and faith.
If anyone has received a religious medal, they will be recognized at mass. The boys should bring /wear their medals to mass.
The Scouts will process in and recess out with the Priest. Each troop should bring their flag and be prepared to have a scout carry it in and out of the church. There will be a place on the Altar for the flags.
We will have reserved seating in the church for scouts and leaders only. Families are welcome to sit in the in the general areas of the church.
There will also be a special blessing for Scouts and their families. There will be food and coffee afterward (courtesy of Troop 318 - thank you!) We need count for the food, please sign up on the Troop website.
The Scouts and Leaders need to be in their Class A's. PLEASE, no jeans this is formal occasion. Khakis or nice pants should be worn.
We need to get the word out to scouts.. If you want Cub Scout Packs from your respective parishes to come, please let them know they should contact me. If you give me an email address, I will contact them.
The deadline for signup on the troop website is Feb. 1, 2017.
