MIRA MESA 11, SERRA 4 — The Marauders received an early wake-up call when the visiting Conquistadors tallied twice in their opening trip to the plate. However, Mira Mesa answered with its own run in the 1st, then five more markers in the 2nd to remain perfect in Eastern League play.
ALICIA GARCIA collected the pitching victory in relief, tossing four shutout innings on just one hit after Serra scored four times over the first three innings.
Meanwhile, KATIYANA MAUGA registered a big day on offense Tuesday (Apr. 17), driving in five runs, featuring a 3-run homer to center field to highlight the 2nd-inning outburst. She also stroked an RBI single in the 1st to start the comeback, then capped a 4-run rally in the 6th with a run-scoring double.
Mauga now had eight home runs this season.
QUIRISA MAUGA kept up with her older sister by going 3-for-3, including a triple and a run scored in the 1st
