Our season will begin this coming Sunday, Sept 19th. All sessions for this Sunday will all be at Robert French Memorial

For this year, there are COVID protocols we must keep in mind:

2. All players must come to the arena fully dressed in helmet on ready to go on the ice.

3. There will be a sign-in sheet left in the front entrance for all parents to sign when entering the facility

4. No parents are permitted in or around the dressing rooms

5. Their will only be allowed one guardian with every child

6. Seating will only be where it is marked in each arena

7. Masks even though not mandated should be worn for everyone’s protection

Please keep in mind that as COVID evolves these rules will change, so some extra patience will be appreciated as we work our way through this season.

20211021 - Message From The Town Of CBS - Vaccine Passport System

October 21, 2021

Starting October 22, 2021, the Vaccine Passport system will be used to verify a person’s COVID-19 vaccination status while entering the Conception Bay South Arena & Robert French Memorial Stadium. This is following a direct mandate from the Government of NL, in order to protect participants and spectators and help us live safely with COVID-19, while still allowing activities to take place. Starting on this date Town Staff will be present at the main entrances of each facility and scanning each person 12 years of age and older for Proof of Vaccination (compatible with the NLVaxPass and NLVaxVerify apps).

During scanning the message will include the individual’s name and show a green block if the vaccination status, including being medically exempt, is met and a red block if the vaccination status is not met (meaning the person is not medically exempt, is unvaccinated, or is partially vaccinated).

If an individual has green status, the employee will require a second piece if ID from the individual to verify that the QR code applies to them. For individuals 19 and over the ID must be a photo ID, such as a driver’s license. For individuals 12 to 18 an ID with their full name and birth date must be provided, such as MCP or school ID. This must match the name from the QR code.

Once the identification of the person is verified and they have the green status, the employee may allow the individual to enter the facility or event.

An individual with red status is not permitted into the facility or event.  If an individual will not show proof of vaccine or their QR code shows red, they will be denied access as they do not meet the Public Health vaccine mandate.

Highlighted Points

  • Individuals ages 12 to 18 ARE NOT REQUIRED to provide proof of vaccination in arenas or during indoor sports or recreation activities, while participating in the event, but will require proof of vaccination if in the facility as a spectator
  • Children who turn 12 during the vaccine passport requirement are required to be fully vaccinated within 3 months of their birth date. Children are permitted into Town events or facilities without showing proof of vaccination as long as they are within that three month period. After that time, they will be required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof.

For more information visit

https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/life-during-covid-19/vaccination-record/citizens/

It is suggested that you ask your members to arrive earlier then normal and to be patient as they enter the facilities during this process.

IMPORTANT MEMORANDUM TO: Hockey NL Members

DATE: February 11, 2022

RE: COVID-19 ISOLATION REQUIREMENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have been getting some questions in relation to the Isolation Requirements. We have approached Public Health as members were asking questions on close contact interpretations for our sport as it relates to the Exposure Flow Chart. This was a question from one of our members:

Need further clarification on close contacts during competition vs practices. During competition due to the speed and nature of game close contact is less frequent as players do not come in contact as frequently during a game or in some cases not at all. This will likely bring competition to a halt quickly as 1 positive case in a game would shut down 2 teams for 10 days. Discussion likely needed here. Why the need to isolate entire team if physically distanced?

The response from Public Health is below. • The COVID Exposure Flow Chart (https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/files/Covid-Exposure-Flowchart2021-FINAL.pdf) notes that “a close contact is generally someone who has been near a person with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes when public health measures, such as masking and physical distancing, were not in place.” It further states that a close contact means “You were near the person for at least 15 minutes while indoors when you were not wearing a mask.” 15 minutes is considered cumulative time, and not necessarily all at once. The onus is on participants and/or parents to determine for themselves whether they or their children were potentially exposed, based on their level of protection and interactions with other team members.

We continue to stress the importance of wearing buffs while on the players and penalty bench as well as wearing non-medical masks in the dressing rooms and within the facility. We trust this information from Public Health will assist your association in managing the return of competition next week.

Sincerely, Hockey NL Board of Directors

RE:                 2021-2022 All NL Provincial Tournaments

Hockey NL was informed by Public Health on Friday, February 18, 2022, that effective March 14, 2022, all restrictions would be removed from sport and recreation. 20220228 - COVID-19 Exposure Flowchart - Updated

February 28, 2022

Attention Members,

Please see below the link below for the most up to date covid exposure flow chart from Public Health

There have been some questions regarding whether the flow chart will remain after the safety measure requirements are lifted.   Public Health has advised us that the contact tracing and exposure chart will remain in effect after the Covid Restrictions are lifted on March 14, 2021.

We wanted to be sure members were aware that when traveling and tournaments begin to open, that isolation may still be required as directed in the chart.

Reminder, that Hockey NL is not responsible for any cost associated with testing and/or isolation requirements.

20220228 - UPDATED All Star Fees Outstanding A and B Teams ONLY

February 28, 2022

Good day Parents,

We would like to thank you for your efforts in getting the all star fees paid.  But, there is some confusion whereby parents think that their invoice that was emailed out to you has already been paid.  You will see on top that it states invoice and over on the right side it says payment methond: Credit Card.  This just states how you have to pay it online.  It is not stating that it is paid already by credit card.  I can understand where someone can get confused.  This is our first season with the newly updated system and we are working out the kinks and sending suggestions to Hockey Canada to have a couple of things tweeked for this process.  Bare with us as we try to get it resolved.  Also, on the bottom it should state amount due that would help as well instead of total.  We hope that we can have this resolved for next season.

Also, this weekend those who have not paid their fees will receive another invoice it does mean that your fees have not been paid, and they are overdue.  You can emt funds to treasurer@cbrminorhockey.com.  Come into the office to pay during office hours or call the office to make a payment over the phone during office hours.  If you would like to email the office you can reach Tracy at office@cbrminorhockey.com.

Eft's that have been sent will be deposited and there will be a receipt emailed out to you.

In order to attend provincials all fees will need to be paid in full.

We thank you for your assistance,

CBRMHA Office

This is a friendly reminder that your All Star Fees are overdue and will need to be paid asap.  You would have received an invoice on your Hockey Canada Portal which goes to your email as well. If you require another email sent please let me know and I will certainly have that sent to you.  If you require furter assistance please let me know by emailing the office at office@cbrminorhockey.com

CBRMHA would like to advise parents that the All Star Fees need to be paid in full.  We would like to advise you that there will be a reconcilliation of the time used at years end and if there there is time not used due to not being able to make up lost time CBRMH will be reviewing the divisions and if there is refund deemed neccessary we will advise after the season is over.

We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding in this situation and we will treat each divison fairly.

Thank you,

CBRMHA Office

20220308 - Sport and Recreation Update from Sport NL

March 8, 2022

Please see the following key messages from Public Health.

Key Messages for Sport and Recreation March 2, 2022

·       The overall goal of Newfoundland and Labrador’s pandemic response is to reduce severe disease and death due to COVID-19, while minimizing societal disruption.  The current focus is to protect vulnerable people and keep our case counts and related hospitalizations at a manageable level for the health system to respond.

·       Vaccination rates in this province continue to be high, with over 94% of individuals age 12 and over fully vaccinated and additional information is available at https://covid-19-newfoundland-and-labrador-gnl.hub.arcgis.com/

·       While Public Health anticipates that all Special Measures Orders will be lifted on March 14, organizations should be aware that COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community. Furthermore, Public Health will continue to strongly recommend the use of non-medical masks in indoor public spaces, and will continue to advise positive cases and their close contacts to self-isolate, as applicable (https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/public-health-guidance/self-isolation/). Organizations should consider how they will choose to operate in the absence of public health measures, especially when planning group/team trips or tournaments, and what contingency plans may be required.

·       The COVID-19 website will be pared down over the coming weeks as restrictions are lifted. Current Public Health measures are summarized here: https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/restrictions/current-restrictions/  Planned restrictions are listed here: https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/restrictions/planned-restrictions/  Finally, a link to Overall Guidance for Sport and Recreation is available here: www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/employers/recreation/overall-guidance/

·       With respect to vaccination requirements for patrons or participants, Public Health anticipates that the proof of vaccination Special Measures Order will no longer be in place as of March 14th. However, the COVID-19 Vaccine Regulations that require employees and service providers (including volunteers) of certain businesses and organizations to be fully vaccinated remain in effect.

·       Organizations could choose to implement their own policy to require proof of vaccination, but are encouraged to seek legal advice to ensure such policies are not in violation of human rights: https://thinkhumanrights.ca/human-rights-and-covid-19-best-practices/ . Furthermore, it is possible that the NLVaxPass and NLVaxVerify apps may not be active beyond a certain date, so an organization’s vaccination policy may have to rely on paper-based vaccination records available here: https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/vaccine/online-vaccination-records/

U 11 Atomic Blue Win Tier 3

April 13, 2022

It was an amazing finish to the year as the team picked up its first win of the season in the last game of round robin play.  Shortly after this game, the team was informed we had actually made it into the crossovers based on a three way tie of teams with a 1 - 2 record.  We made it in by one goal!

After defeating the 1st place team in the other division Sunday morning 1 - 0, it was on to the gold medal game against Bell Island and a 4 - 2.  This group definitely saved the best for last!!  An experience that everyone involved will never forget.

Congrats!
