Eric Gissendanner is in his 13th season as sports information director with the Colchester Cannons baseball program. After game scoring for two seasons with the Junior Cannons program, Gissendanner joined the Senior team in 2008. He has serves as the team's official scorer, media coordinator and oversees the program's social media platforms and gameday operations.

Gissendanner brings a solid athletic communications background to the Cannons, having worked for parts of three years in college sports information. He spent the 2016-17 school year as the assistant director of athletic communications at Division III SUNY Plattsburgh, where he was the main contact for men's and women's ice hockey, baseball and men's and women's outdoor track & field. Prior to that, Gissendanner spent two years in the Division II Saint Michael's College athletic communications department as a full-time intern. At Saint Michael's, Gissendanner assisted the department's day-to-day operations and was a member of the gameday event staff that includes event scoring, game announcing and writing game recaps.

As an undergraduate student at SUNY Plattsburgh, Gissendanner worked five semesters in the College's sports information department as a student assistant. He was also the team manager for SUNY Plattsburgh's baseball squad from 2010 to 2013 under head coach Kris Doorey.

Outside of collegiate athletics, Gissendanner covered sled hockey, Nordic skiing and biathlon at the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia, for the Wheelchair Sports Federation and was a student intern and freelance writer at Plattsburgh's Press-Republican daily newspaper between August 2012 and December 2013.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in newspaper journalism from SUNY Plattsburgh in May 2014. In 2009, Gissendanner graduated from Burlington High School, where he was a co-captain his senior year under then-head coach Perry Bove.

Gissendanner currently resides in eastern Iowa with his girlfriend Alyssa.
