Widmer sharp with CG and Matty Edwards 2-3 in first game!

Headline: Alec Widmer tosses a complete game in the Bulls first game of the season and Matty Edwards goes 2-3 in his first game as a Bull plus Jay Dixon also hot with a 2-3 start.
Playing at Pfeiffer University, the Bulls jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning when Craig Colbourne led off the inning with a "hit by pitch". (ouch). Jay Dixon's double moved Colbourne to third. Ryan Harrell then hit a sac fly to bring home Colbourne and the 1-0 lead.
The game stayed at 1-0 Bulls until the top of the 6th! The inning started with 3 consecutive singles by Isaac Campbell, Josh Byrd and Matty Edwards. Davis O'Brien then walked to score Campbell and a 2-0 lead. Nathan Harrell's ground ball to shortstop scored Josh Byrd for a 3-0 lead.
The Rockies put 1 run on the board in the bottom of the 6th to cut the Bulls lead to 3-1.
In the top of the 7th, Ryan Harrell doubled to score Jay Dixon for a 4-1 lead and then Matty Edwards singled to score Colbourne and give the Bulls a 5-1 cushion heading to the bottom of the 7th. The Rockies were able to push 2 runs across to cut the lead to 5-3, but Widmer was able to get a couple of ground ball outs to end the game. Bulls win 5-3!!
