Newport High School is a member of the KingCo League.  There are 3 classifications within the League: 4A, 3A, 2A. Attendance figures are tallied (grades 10-12 only) every 4 years and schools switch classifications depending on the Attendance figures. The current enrollment cycle lasts through the 2024 school year.

The 2008-09 school year was the first year Newport was classified as a 4A school. For our league meets, we compete against a mixture of 4A schools in our league.
