• Attendees: Laurie Shifler, Rachel Malagari, Bob, Jessica Sensenbaugh, Larry Toms, Samantha Palmer, Kenny Bromfield, Kevin Brown, Pat & Kayla Wharton, Spencer Cromer, Steve Fierros, Jason Staub, Amanda Staub, Ben Jones, Emilie Cave, Max Cave, Michelle McClure, Bekah Arriola, Gary Masser, Nick Petkovic, Travis Hoffman and Greg Smith.

• Meeting was held at Smithsburg Fire Hall on March 7, 2023 at 6 pm

• Announcements:Pledgewassaid.Wehavehaddrasticdropinnumbers, we have had a lot of bad mouthing of the league and the current board. This has lead to no enough kids for 11/12 or Babe ruth divisions. We are combing our minors and majors to make 9-12 and will play at Abe field. 1st time in a long time we have had large sum of money in the bank. We do have some expenses coming up but still doing fundraisers. We have had vandalism, Locks glued shut on sheds, Banner is missing, and Tv and potato cutter were taken from concession stand. We have alert the police, if you go by the field please report anything looks messed up to board. Whom every is doing this is only hurting the kids. Bingo is still on this weekend, it has NOT been canceled as the fire hall was told.

  Meeting minutes were approved for February, Greg made a motion to approve and was 2nd by Sam.

• Treasure’ s report:
  Greg made a motion to approve the Treasure’s report and was 2nd by Rachel.

• DivisionReps: T-ball:

  Softball: Bases on 1st base not 2 pieces needs replaced at Callas, needs to be

  one piece. Babe Ruth:

  • Player Agent:

We have 13 teams, 5 tball unless we cannot get a coach then it will be 4, 3 Rookies, 3 Major and 2 softball teams. Baseball will be playing Pen Mar and West Virginia, and Softball will play Thurmont, Hancock, Brunswick, South Cty, and West Virginia.

New pitching Machine has been ordered.

• Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee:
  Spirt wear is up and running, online and can have Team moms pass forms out to each team at first practice.
  Bingo: We have basket and quilt donated by the Browns and 5 baskets donated from Mr. Hahn and Bechtel’s. Greg has dicks gift card and 2 yeti cups for door prizes and needs to check back on the wine basket. Jessica thinks she can get a gift card from Rocky’s and Michelle is checking on a Red Robin gift card. Rachel is picking up Tip Jars tomorrow. We have 50 bingo tickets sold, Venmo has really help to sell tickets.

• Concession Committee: it was decided if not enough people to work and open conession game will not start,

  Brandon was not here. Travis has stuff ordered.

• Old Business:

  1. League rules should be finished this week and sent to board members for

     review, need for mangers meeting Saturday.

  2. Shed at Callas will be framed up on Thursday. Friday we should have

     electric. All materials have been donated.

  3. Antietam is donating the insulation of WIFI at Abe. Callas will need tablet

     and hotspot.

  4. Sign up genius is done pending games.

  5. Menus are being done for both fields.

6. Opening day is April 1st at 9am, still have not heard back form Patrick Moore about have some baseball boys come out. Greg will invite the sponsors to opening day. We would like to invite Mayor, Fire department, EMS and Smithsburg police. Dec Phil Martin will throw 1st pitch.

7. Greg is going to check with Martins and see about donating doughnuts for opening day.

8. Would like to get kona ice out for games on April 1st.

• New Business:

1. Bob and Steve would like 50/50 done at each game.

2. Field Saturday March 18th 9-12pm.

3. Need to find a day to get equipment donated from Jeter to cut

   warning track, edge base line, and roll both fields.

4. Paint has been donated to Calls to paint shed, looking for help to

   paint the shed.

5. New screens for dug outs at Callas will cost $425 per screen, need 2

6. Greg is working on water for Callas field.

7. Doug Diehl is going to fix trackers, Callas tracker needs a drive belt.

8. Doug will do mowing for the season; it will be $90 a cut per field.

   This includes cutting and weed eating.

9. New sign to replace stolen sign will be donated.

10.Greg is meeting with Heller gas company Thursday, they are seeing

if we can run bottle gas to the concession stand, if we can they will donate the installation and we just need to pay for gas. We can replace both fryers for the prices of one electric fryer.

11. Sam will check with Susie about first aid kits.
12.Valley is willing to play us, 1 home game and 1 game away, Will vote

on this at later date.
