Atom A and Atom B Tryout Process DetailsSeptember 18, 2018
CBRMHA has decided to change the Atom A/Atom B Tryout process for the 2018/19 Season. The Technical Skate portion of the Tryout Process will be removed from the Atom A/Atom B Process. The Atom A/Atom B process and will be a 2 Stage Process, similar to Atom A/B Tryouts for the past number of seasons.
Tryouts Process
Phase 1
- 3 Evaluated Games
- After Phase 1, 6 Goalies and 24 Forwards, 16 Defensemen will continue on to Phase 2 Tryouts, all other players will be placed in the Atom House League Program
Phase 2 (4 Two-Line Teams with 6 Goalies)
- Two teams in Pool A consisting of 12 forwards and 8 defensemen and 3 goalies in total
- Two teams in Pool B which is 12 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goalies in total
- Teams will play 2 games against the other team in their pool
- Atom A team will come from Pool A with the top 9 Forwards, 6 Defense, 2 Goalies being selected
- Atom B team will come from
- Pool A players not selected for Atom A (3 Forwards, 2 Defense, and 1 Goalie) Plus
- Top 6 Forwards, 4 Defense, 1 Goalie from Pool B
- Players not selected to an Atom A & B team will be placed in the Atom House League Program
Tryout Information
- Games – We have contacted Coaches who do not have a player in the tryout process. In the event we are short we may require parent helpers
- Evaluating – 3 independent player evaluators and one goalie evaluator.
- If a player has to miss a tryout session due to illness a Doctor’s note must be provided to our technical director….contact info on our website
- CBR send both an Atom A and Atom B team to compete in a metro based league playing against other organizations. Generally a 24 game schedule and playoffs starting mid Oct to March. Generally one home and away game per week
