6th Grade Season Recap:

What a nice year for the 6th grade team in 2017.  We played in 8 tournaments, made it to at least 5 Semifinals and 3 Championship games while winning 1 championship.  We finished 28-11 on the season.  Awesome!

 

We also added some guys to the All Time Leaders list this year!

Season Leaders:

Season FG%: Owen Tompkins at .527 is now 3rd all time.

Season FT%: Owen Tompkins at .707 is now 2nd all time

 

Single Game Leaders:

Points in a game: Owen Snyder at 23 is tied for 8th all time.

Assists in a game: Michael Woodall with 9 is tied for 3rd on the all time list.  He also was added for an 8 assist game as well.

 

    

 

NTBA Nationals 

7/21/17. 

10th Grade Travel

The 10th travel team went to Myrtle Beach, SC to play in the National Travel Basketball Association Nationals with over 50 teams from many states.  We went 3-0 in pool play as we bet Ambitious Ballers (71-61), Anthony Atkinson All Stars (82-80) and Carolina Flight (58-42) and advanced to the Gold Championship bracket.  We won our first playoff game against CC Force (54-28) in the first round.  We then lost to a very tough Team Fly (60-65) in the 2nd round.  

We finished 28-11 on the season.

5/28/17. 

10th Grade Travel

The 10th travel team went to Cincinnati, OH to play in the big end of spring tournament.  We went 1-1 in pool play and advanced to the Silver bracket.  We then won three in a row before dropping a close one in the championship game.   

We are now 24-10 on the season.

 

 

Primetime

5th Grade

We went 1-1 in pool play and advanced to the playoffs.  We won our first playoff game before losing in the semifinals.  We finished 12-11 on the season.

 

6th Grade

We went 2-1 in pool play as we lost to a very good O.B.C. team (35-52) before beating SMAC-Antoine (47-41) and Canton City Ballers (63-13). We then lost to a tough TNBA East- Kline team (48-65) in the Quarterfinals.  We finished 28-11 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

 The local team went 1-2 in pool play as we beat M.O.B.-Bragg (46-31) and then lost to Ohio Hoops Wallace (74-83) and VAC-Williams (60-82).  

 

Ohio NIKE Super 16 

5/21/17. 

10th Grade Travel

The 10th travel team went to Columbus, OH to play in the big tournament featuring many of the top teams in the region.  We had a very tough pool and went 1-2.  We then lost our first playoff game.   

We are now 20-8 on the season.

 

 

 Akron Cage Classic 

5/14/17. 

5th Grade

We went 1-1 in pool play and advanced to the playoffs.  We won our first playoff game before losing in the semifinals.  We are now 10-9 on the season.

 

6th Grade

We went 2-1 in pool play as we lost to a very good Ohio Stampede team (41-60) before beating Stallions (69-53) and Ohio Pelicans (77-33). We then beat Ohio Red Wave (59-54) in round 1 of the playoffs. We a tough Cleveland (62-60) in the semifinals.  We competed well in the championship game in a rematch against Ohio Stampede before losing (37-48).  We are now 26-9 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 1-2 in pool play but still took 2nd in the pool as we beat Team First (64-42) and then lost to Air Attack-Ehman (51-54) and Summit County All Stars (63-68).  We then lost to NorthEast Elite (44-59) in the semis.  We are now 12-16 on the season.

5/07/17. 

10th Grade travel

The 10th travel team went to Ft. Wayne, IN to play in the big tournament at the Spiece Fieldhouse and made it to the semi's in the Silver bracket.  We lost our first pool play game to Ray Allen Select-Donaldson (WI) (52-59).  We then battled the 25th ranked team in the country, Greenwood Elite (MI) before losing (57-68). We then beat MBA Select (IN) (75-59) in our last pool game. We beat All-In Athletics (IL) (90-73) in the first round of the playoffs.  We then beat NC Bullets (60-54) in the quarterfinals before losing a tough one in the semifinals to Kardia Kings (IN) (59-61).  We are now 19-5 on the season.

  

The Great Lakes Regionals 

5/07/17. 

5th Grade

We went 2-1 in pool play and advanced to the playoffs before losing our first round game.  We are now 8-7 on the season.

 

6th Grade

We went 1-1 in pool play as we beat Kids of Cleveland (57-13) and lost a tough one to Gurus of Go (45-47). We then beat Air Attack-Wise (53-35) in round 1 of the playoffs. We then beat SMAC-Akron (43-18) in the quarterfinals and Air Attack-Haney (56-52) in the semifinals.  We ran out of gas in the championship game against Gurus of Go as we lost (62-69).  We are now 22-7 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 1-1 in pool play as we beat Air Attack-Dishong (45-43) and lost to Shooting Stars (59-64).  We then lost to Air Attack-Ehman (36-41) in the 1st round of the playoffs.  We are now 11-13 on the season.

  

Rising Stars Spring Classic  

4/30/17. 

10th Grade travel

Congrats to the Champs!  The 10th travel team won their second consecutive tournament.  We won our pool beating Air Attack-Williams (72-53), Centerplex (73-32) and Akron Bobcats (58-35).  We got a bye into the semi's where we beat Ohio Premiere (62-22). We then beat Air Attack-Williams in the championship game (71-58).  We are now 16-2 on the season.

10th Grade local

The local team had a tough weekend as we went 0-3.  We lost to ABC (48-50), FTS-Anthony (51-67) and Air Attack-Perez (52-57).  We are 10-11 on the season.

 

Midwest Spring Slam  

4/23/17. 

10th Grade travel

Congrats to the Champs!  The 10th travel team played "up" in the Varsity division in this one and went undefeated.  We won both pool games beating SMAC Future (70-32) and Westshore (59-51).  We got a bye into the semi's where we beat Ohio Buckets (67-54). We then beat Murphy AC in the championship game (60-53).  We are now 11-2 on the season.

5th Grade

We had a tough draw and went 1-2 in pool play.  Our win came against the Parkersburg Panthers (WV).    We are now 6-5 on the season.

 

6th Grade

We went 2-1 in pool play as we beat Hoop Guru-Adkins (48-21) and MAC BB-Branchen (47-8) before losing to Amigos (36-56).  We then lost to Lake Hybrid (46-54) in round 1 of the playoffs.  We are now 18-5 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 2-0 in pool play as we beat Coach G4Lyfe (61-46) and Air Attack-Perez (55-40).  We then beat Akron Bobcats (54-48) in the first round of the playoffs before losing to Shooting Stars-Kirby (40-55).  We are 10-8 on the season.

 

Easter Classic  

4/15/17. 

5th Grade

We again went 2-1 in pool play, but we advanced to the playoffs this time! We won our first playoff game before losing in the semi's by 2.  We are now 8-5 on the season.

 

Solon Cage Classic  

4/09/17. 

10th Grade travel

The 10th travel team started off well as they won all 3 of their pool games beating TNBA West Red (61-52), Shooting Stars-Ferdi (62-52) and Hangtime BB (68-63).  We beat Wallace Ohio Hoops (58-50) in the first round of the playoffs.  We then beat FTS Anthony (61-25) in the quarterfinals before losing to TNBA West Flash (58-67) in the semifinals.  We are 7-2 in the season.

  

Ballers Bash  

4/09/17. 

5th Grade

We again went 2-1 in pool play, however, we lost out on advancing to the playoffs in a very close tiebreaker. We are now 5-3 on the season.

 

6th Grade

We won our pool as we beat Coach G4Lyfe (70-19) and OH Pelicans (51-16).  We then beat Akron Bobcats (46-15) in round 1 of the playoffs.  We then lost to Dribble Dawgs (41-54) in the semifinals.  We are now 16-3 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 2-1 in pool play as we beat North East Elite (58-43) and Centerplex (63-34) before losing to Air Attack-Williams (63-66).  We beat Akron Bobcats (55-50) in the first round of the playoffs.  We then beat Air Attack-Dishong (60-55) in a thrilling OT semifinal.  We ran out of gas in the championship game against Air Attack-Williams (63-82).  We are 7-7 on the season.

 

Grizzly Games  

4/02/17. 

6th Grade

We won our pool as we beat Lake (51-26), Buckeye Elite (58-13) and VAC - Swartz (70-17).  We then beat Team Fusion (45-23) in round 1 of the playoffs.  We then lost to Guros of Go (51-55) in the semifinals.  We are now 13-2 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 1-2 in pool play as they lost a couple of really close ones.  We beat Dream Center (67-57) before losing to Hoop Guru (48-49) and Air Attack-Dishong (48-51).  We are 3-5 on the season.

 4/02/17. 

10th Grade travel

 The travel team started off well as they won their pool beating Full Court Ballers Elite (54-45) and All Ohio Select (54-44).  We then lost to Rail Cities Attack (39-55) in the semifinals.  We are 2-1 in the season.

 

  

Spring Shootout  

3/26/17. 

6th Grade

We had a pretty good shootout, but only pool winners got to advance to bracket play.  We went 2-1 in pool play as we beat Murphy Wildcats (40-15) and Centerplex (45-10) before losing to Amigos (13-23).  We then beat Fusion (40-6) in a consolation game.  We are now 9-1 on the season.

 

10th Grade local

The local team went 2-3 in their first tournament of the year.  We lost to Air Attack-Dishong (28-35) and Ohio Storm (33-43) before beating Air Attack-Perez (47-43) and Centerplex (61-19).  We then lost to Team Cure (38-49) in a consolation game.  We are 2-3 on the season.

 

March Madness Tournament  

3/19/17. 

5th Grade

The youngest team team in the program started off well this year as they went 2-1 in pool play.  They won their first playoff game before losing in the semis to the eventual champs.  We are now 3-2 on the season.

 

6th Grade

Congrats to the champs!  What a great start to the season as we went undefeated! In pool play we beat MBGC (49-39), VAC Swartz (72-21) & Kids of Cleveland (61-19). We then beat VAC Haney (50-31) in the first round of playoffs. We came back from 9 down at half to beat a tough Youngstown Raiders (57-47) in the semis.  We then beat Hudson Pumas (49-29) in the championship game.  We are now 6-0 on the season.
