TECHNICAL TRAINING PROGRAM

Our league is excited to announce our affordable and quality Technical Training Program (TTP) that will provide a platform for our young players to improve every facet of their game. The primary focus of the TTP is the development of the technical skills of each player.  Our program is designed to improve development of players, concentrating on organized, age-appropriate training sessions and creating an environment that is fun for the players.

TTP is part of our "Pyramid To Success" model, and it supplements both our Outdoor and Futsal Programs.  The Outdoor Program is our traditional recreational league played during the Fall and Spring seasons at Pride Park & Thulemeyer Park in Schertz.  It is the "foundation" of our model.  Our Futsal Program is our year-round Rec Plus program that supplements our Outdoor Program.  TTP will help develop the technical skills of our players to help them be successful in both our Outdoor and Futsal Programs.

TTP OBJECTIVE

To provide soccer specific training for youth players ages 6-18 years old.  TTP will focus on four areas of training specified in the U.S. Soccer Curriculum:

Technical - The ability to efficiently perform a task or specific soccer movement.

Physical - Possessing necessary physical attributes to be able to compete at a competitive and healthy level.

Tactical - Having an understanding or knowledge of the game and game related concepts (understanding a system of play).

Psychosocial - Having the appropriate level of mental toughness and ability to function in a team oriented environment.

TTP LEVELS

The TTP is setup with three levels for each age group:  TTP 101, TTP 201 and TTP 301.  Each session will run for four (4) weeks and participants will attend a one-hour session each week.  Each new participant must start with TTP 101.  At the end of each session, all participants will be evaluated and either recommended for the next level or repeat the same level again.  The goal is for each participant to show marked improvement in their technical skills during each session to move up to the next level.

TTP 101:  TTP 101 is the introductory-level course which each player must attend.  TTP 101 will focus on introducing technical aspects of the game.  The objective of this course is to instill the importance of proper technique and repetition. Participants will also be introduced to physical and psychosocial aspects. TTP 101 is the foundation course for the program, and participants will get a very good idea of what the program and culture is all about.  We want to develop players both from a performance and personal standpoint.

TTP 201:  TTP 201 is the progression course from TTP 101. The objective here is to build on all aspects from the previous level and introduce new and advanced concepts.  TTP 201 will still focus primarily on technical aspects of the game but at this stage, we will introduce tactical aspects as well.  TTP 201 will require a solid foundation of technical skills.  Drills will simultaneously incorporate multiple tasks (i.e. dribbling, passing, moving off the ball), which will imply each participant be able to complete the basic skills learned in TTP 101.

TTP 301:  TTP 301 is the final level of the program.  Participants must be able to perform all skills learned in TTP 101 and TTP 201. The objective of this course is to sharpen all technical aspects and develop strong understanding and application of tactical and physical aspects of the game.  Participants will be encouraged to increase their soccer IQ with regards to understanding how to maximize their personal attributes and how to incorporate their skills and knowledge into a team setting.
