Well the season has started and we came out of the gate swinging!!
We were up 12-4 after 2 innings the (smaller than average) Units came back to beat us 27-17.

The TOT season is about to start but before the first pitch mother nature threw a curve ball in the mix with the fields being a bit to wet to play!!
ANYWAY
there is still a chance that we could play this Wednesday if things dry out a bit!!!

THE HIT HERD ROUND THE WORLD
So we played the Tap Maters
&
to true form we came out of the gate a bit slow. The Taps took the lead early but we took it back late in the game and never looked back.
We blanked them with goose eggs for 4 straight innings with some stellar defense.
In the end we came out of this one on top with a Win

NOW I know at the start I mentioned the hit herd round the world!!
I am tell this because in my long and in no way semi semi pro career have I ever seen a play like this or has happen to me as a pitcher!!
Background is this
I'm pitching to a batter (unnamed) with 2 strikes on him, I throw a pitch way inside above the batters head in which he ducked his head to avoid the pitch but in doing so the Ball hit the standing bat that was on his shoulder NOT MOVING!
In doing so he is called out!!!
In all my years this has never happened, I thanked the batter for this happening so I can mark this off my softball memoirs....
It did not look like this but it is still a great hit!

From the Rusty Ashes!!
We played the Rusty Rebels on Thursday and man do they have some big hitters
They Pumped me with hits for 7 runs in the first inning but stalled after we put Brian in and he saved my Bacon!!
We fought back with a couple good innings to take the lead and never look back.
Going into the Bottom of the 7th down only 2 runs with there winning runs on base and the Big kahuna stepping to the plate with 2 out!!!
Well lets just say he tried to take a big bite out of us but in the end striking out to end the game.....
Great job fellas way to hang in there for the win.

MY UNIT STILL HURTS!!
So we Played the Unit's last night it was a windy cool night but from a Chubby guy here no complaints LOL
The Unit's took it to us in the 1st with a 7 run start! We blank in the 2nd but had a blip of 6 runs in the 3rd.
Trying to fight our way back into this one by pulling Me and stuck Brian in as pitcher to bring it home....
YAAAAA BRIAN!!!
B stuck with it keeping us close but in the 7th we gave up 7 runs to seal our fate.
Good effort boys let's move on and take it to them the next game....
On a high note "man that guy is fast!!"
1st at Bat 1st inning in the park home run, good thing the fence was still there other wise Skip would be gone!!!

WHO LIKES TO BEAT THE ROUNDERS!!!
We started off strong with some great hitting and some really great defence in the field....
We drove Beechee out of the outfield and in to the pitching hot seat by taking it to them so we could go into the final inning with a 5 run lead.
And of course I love to make things interesting, so while I loading the bases Kdell showed up to the plate and of course KD just smashes one into Right field......
Lucky it hit the fence 2 feet from the top and drop in only scoring a few runs. We held them off to take the win
13-12 what a nail biter.
Way to hold them and I will see you all tonight

WHATS IN THE BEER BRO'S BEER???
As you can see from the picture above those were the words I was screaming to myself inside every time that little yellow ball came back to me! I kept telling that ball "Go to your home ball" and it just kept coming back to me after flying thru the air!
I even gave that little yellow ball to Will I AM for a inning and he gave it back to me saying it was not working!!
Anyway the game went on and we got pump for runs for most of the game!
Going into the final innings down at least 15 or 16 runs our bats came alive for a great rally but fell way short losing 28 to 16
OOOhhhh that one hurt....
No mater gents we have a long season and we are here to have fun no one likes losing but at least we are having a good time with good friends....
Lets pull it together and play hard on Thursday

Who's hungry for Sliders?
We were...
We came hot out of the gate with our bats just crushing the ball well or dribbling just past the pitcher, but as any good ball player knows it's not how far the ball goes it is all about getting on base and we did that for sure.
AND YA
I served up a few nice ones and the Sliders did hit back but in the end we kept our lead and finished the game

On a high note last night
Speedy Brian R was what looked like praying in the outfield for a ball to come his way when one landed right in his glove no short of him being on his knees

Right in my FACE!
Now I know its early and we are still sitting at 500 BUT this one hurt!!
Again we started a bit slow with the bats but we did hold it together thru out the main part of the game, but they were dropping balls in all the holes and the wind was playing havoc on their pop ups leaving us down 6 going into the last few innings!
(WE PLAYED THE MASTER BATTERS)
If you haven't guessed by now
We fought back a few but in the end loosing 12-8.
On a brighter note Brian R our P2 was forced in to pitch ONE and only ONE inning in were he went 3 up and 3 down then flying back to the outfield position next inning were he loves to play!!
I have to say the positivity on this team is infectious... keep it up gents it is a long season and we will bring it all home.

SOMEONE POOPED IN THE TUB!

We welcomed back WILL I AM to the team in which we played our good friends the Tubs Eddie and Jeff.
I Spoke with Eddie before the game making sure he wasn't cold and if the nurses knew he was out this late he assured me that he took his meds and that Jeff did sign him out before leaving.
We started off slow with minimal runs in the first few innings then came alive with some good 2 out single bats and great defensive play.
In the end we gave in 16 to 15! I guess the 1 home run I gave up in the first inning to Mr.Layhee proved to be our downfall.
Not to worry gents we will see our friends Jeff and Ed once more in the coming months. Good showing great effort out there and I will see you all Tuesday 7 pm C3

TALK TO ME GOOSE!
Well the first game for the rookie team was what we expected fun, laughs and a all around good time. The IGBS started a bit slow with only 2 runs in the 1st inning and 0 run's in the 2nd and then the bats came alive in the 3rd with a 7 run inning from there it was a few runs here and there to go into the 7th with a 7 run lead. DO NOT under estimate the Dusty Cleat's they have a batting lineup that will beat you down by going long and find holes every at bat. With giving up 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th we finally ended it taking the game 16 to 14.
All this happening with Goose AKA (WILL I AM) on the phone helping cheer on the team.

Opening Day is a coming!!
Well Gents we are almost there, the INGBS will take the field in just a few days for the first time in TOT history. I can't wait to get out on the field with my ball brother's and have great season. Thru all the wind and snow I always looked to the lush green diamond to bring on the spring, summer and fall!
