August 26, 2007 1:31:24 PM Entry ID: 1193083 | Well Dawgs overall not a bad weekend at all. I am happy with what I saw from you boys. We had 1 real bad half of soccer in 5 games and as we all know, we just aren't an early morning team unfortunately. Even though we lost to PW by the score we did, as the father of one of their guest players ( who is also the head Coach of the North Shore Team ) They didn't really build anything up and create scoring opportunities, 2 kick and run goals that started from balls in their half of the field, 2 offsides and a unfortunate mistake not using the keeper, instead trying to clear the ball to the sideline with the weak foot but you know what ? That lesson right there that hurt at the time, I do believe it's educational value was extremely worth it. Now our defense can see WHY we pass back to the keeper and use him. The way you owned the game in the second half was impressive however, if I recall correctly Port only crossed midfield a handfull of times in that second half. Our conditioning was by far better then thier's. Like I said overall a very good weekend and a great opportunity for me to see the things we need to work on before the season. See you on Tuesday. |

August 25, 2007 4:06:43 PM Entry ID: 1192614 | Way to play boys, way to play. Your play today was great, a few small adjustments that we spoke about at the end but overall........AWESOME. I don't have enough time to mention everyone right now but I absolutely have to say a few things about a couple of players that stood out. First let me just say not having the fat guy with the big mouth yelling at everyones kids made a HUGE difference with at least one player today. Nicolas Ruiz with 4 goals in 2 games played the best 3 games I have ever seen him play without a doubt !!!! Way to play Nicolas !!!!!! Nasratullah, Nasratullah, Nasratullah I don't think I can even put into words how well you played today because it wouldn't do you justice. Your ball skills, your ball movement, your passing all along with your overall field vision was simply incredible. Our complete midfield was dominating today, bravo BRAVO BRAVO to ALL of you. Lawrence, AJ & Patrick's speed and hustle was outstanding. The defense was stella. Let's keep it up and so you know, tomorrows first game will DETERMINE 1st Place. It's Championship Time in the AM Dawgs so bring it, bring early and bring it hard. Great day.... See you all in the AM |

dp August 20, 2007 6:09:36 PM Entry ID: 1188098 | we had a great time at the red bulls game saturday. there were alot of goals for a proffesional game and that made it fun. it was good to see beckham play the whole game but it was better that the red bulls won. we hope everybody that went had as much fun as we did. thanks coach for putting this together. |
| Melissa Ruiz August 17, 2007 10:53:14 AM Entry ID: 1185564 | I just wanted to say that John & Nancy are doing a great job conditioning the boys for their upcoming season. I really appreciate you both for taking the time out of your schedules. It's amazing to me to see how far they have all developed and the conditioning is a very big part of that. So, thank you for everything you are doing. |

August 11, 2007 4:40:37 PM Entry ID: 1181132 | Great day of soccer today Dawgs !! I can honestly say that for only having 2 practces and the first real tests on the big field at 11 v 11 I am very happy with the way you all played today !! We tied East Islip Elite 0-0. We defeated Stont Brook 2-1 and their one goal was late combined with us playing a defensive lineup that you can rest assure I would never put out there in a tight game that meant something...lol.. Finally we defeated the HBC Flash 5-1. The unselfishness today was very refreshing to see, no one tried to be a individual super star as we had problems with in the past. You all played as a TRUE TEAM with very good ball movement in the 2nd and 3rd games especially. Our new players looked liked they'd been here from the beginning. Patrick picked up right where he left off with the Falcons with one of his classic header goals off a cross which was a thing of beauty. Lawrence created many opportunities with his speedy overlapping runs followed by nice crosses and our keeper was OUTSTANDING !! I can honestly say that the Lawn Dawgs have NEVER had a keeper with so much agility, leaping ability, perfect positioning and overall game awareness before.( that is meant with absolutely NO disrespect to any of our past keepers because without their play in the past we wouldn't have been at the level we were when Christian jioned our team ) Christian also comes OUT aggressively to perfection which I had to acknowledge although there was a time we did have a tough Irish kid that was very fearless in his approach to coming out also. Far too much took place in the 3 games for me to summaries all of it but I will say overall I am very happy with todays effort and results. GREAT JOB BOYS !!!! |

July 23, 2007 12:27:30 PM Entry ID: 1167853 | Hope all had a good time at the picnic, it sure seemed like it, I know I did. Well it is almost time to get started again but judging by the performance of Nicolas Ruiz and Sean Schultz yesterday while helping out the Falcons during their scrimmage, I don't think giving everyone the month of July off will be a problem at all. Sean & Nicolas played outstanding with a number of 2 man triangle/give & goes that were performed to perfection. I do believe the break will work-out to be a real good thing. Well I'll see you all soon !! |

dp July 23, 2007 10:17:25 AM Entry ID: 1167760 | nkosi and family would like to thank Gina Ferguson for all of her efforts for putting together the picnic. It seems that everyone had a good time which is the most important thing. We would also like to thank the Fiorella family for the practice jerseys and the after party. We think that we have a great group of parents and hopefully all that negative stuff is behind us for good. |

June 3, 2007 11:16:58 AM Entry ID: 1135380 | I would like to give Congrats to Tommy for his play last night with the Falcons in the West Babylon Marathon and for his 2 assists. I also want to give congrats to Joe not only for his play last night with the Falcons but for passing my personal scoring total. Joe scored 3 goals in 4-25 minute games last night and earned everyone of them. ( I have 4 total lifetime, Joe now has 5, time to come out of retirement...lol ). They included a absolute perfect upper 90 far post goal and we all know how small the goals are at this event. On a free kick taken from midfield by Michael Murgittroyd I told Joe to stand in front of the keeper which he did, as the ball was sent on goal, Joe boxed out the keeper and re-directed the ball with his right instep. The 3rd and final goal was done the old fashion way, like Smith Barney, he earrrned it. Joe took on the forward and beat him with a step-over move then shielded the defender off the ball eventually bodying him away to get himself some separation as he turned on the ball and drilled it past the keeper. This was one of the most enjoyable times coaching/watching my son play soccer I have ever had and I am very proud of him. For the record The Falcons played against the HBC Arsenal D1 and the Smithtown Tornadoes D4 ( Falcons are currently undefeated in D5 ). Tommy and Joe represented the Lawn Dawgs proudly last night !! |

| Coach June 1, 2007 9:09:39 AM Entry ID: 1134048 | Boys, real good practice last night. I hope you can recognize the difference in approaches between the Dark Colored Shirts ( moving with and without the ball and PASSING/BALL MOVEMENT ) and were VERY VERY successful, opposed to the White Shirts, who tried to dribble too much, didn't really have any player movement without the ball. It is a PERFECT example of what I am constantly telling you all. The team moving the ball also looked a lot less fatigued then the individual effort players. There is a time and place for individual attack, for that there is no doubt, but ball movement saves energy for us and forces the opponent to become tierd. Keep up the good work and learn from this example. |

TITLETOWN May 28, 2007 8:08:41 PM Entry ID: 1131493 | we want to congradulate the boys for an outstanding weekend. it's hard to believe that they're only 10 & 11 years old. they left everything out on the fields in PA and even if they didn't take first they made us proud. winning was just the icing on the cake, especially against those guys from levittown. great job to coach joe for keeping the boys focused and to coach jim and coach john for helping with the boys on the sidelines and being 2 extra sets of eyes for joe. lets keep the momentum for the remaining games of this season. |
| Lisa Deer Park May 28, 2007 10:50:04 AM Entry ID: 1131235 | Just wanted to compliment all the Dawgs and even the ones barking on the sidelines....Terrific playing. At every new game, it's even more exciting then the last... 1st place is the best!!! You boys deserved it. |
