Greetings Troop 318

We have the opportunity to spend the day at FAIR OAKS FARM in Fair Oaks, Indiana (less than 90 minutes south on I-65).

This trip will help satisfy requirements #4 and #6 for the Animal Sciences Merit Badge!

When: Sunday, March 8th 10:15am-3:30pm (approx)

Where: Fair Oaks Farm 856 N. 600E, Fair Oaks Indiana, just off 1-65 (exit 220)

Who: ALL 318 scouts & families

Why: Why not? Come just for fun or to work on Animal Sciences Merit Badge requirements.

What: Fair Oaks is a real working dairy and pig farm with multiple exhibits. Both the Dairy Adventure and the Pork Adventure teaches about animal comfort, food production, breeding practices, birthing practices, infection control practices and sustainable farming practices. You will have the opportunity to enter the birthing barn and see a calf being born! You will get a bird's eye view of all the barns and animals in both Adventures.

Anticipated Itinerary(times to be finalized prior to event):

10am: arrival at Fair Oaks (NO LATER, we will board tour bus at approx 10:15, plan accordingly)

10:30-12:00 Shuttle bus and Tour to either Dairy Adventure or Pork Adventure

12:15-1:00: Lunch (BRING A SACK LUNCH/SNACKS, vending machines available)

1:30-3:00 Shuttle bus and Tour to either Dairy Adventure or Pork Adventure

3:30: End of day, return home.
