The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is hosting a Cub Scout Impact Day on Saturday May 10, 2025 Scouts and Registered Adults will be needed to help the Scouts learn about wastewater. The Impact Day Runs from 9AM -11 AM, and Help is needed from 8AM - 11 AM. The Calumet Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) is located at 400 E 130th Street, Chicago, IL.

This is a great opportunity to see where your wastewater goes (if you live in Cook County). All the wastewater from your homes and businesses travel to the WRP on 130th. This volunteer opportunity will provide a plant tour and learning opportunities for Scouts and Adults as well.

This is also an opportunity to get a 7a complete for Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badge or 5a for the Public Health Merit Badge.
