Join the Hiking Coordinators Team - 2019

Dear Parents of Troop 318:

Do you love the outdoors? Do you love to hike? If so, please consider joining the hiking coordinators team.

We are always looking for parents to serve as hiking coordinators. What is a hiking coordinator, you say? Well...a hiking coordinator is a troop committee member who is willing to serve as part of a team of at least two adult supervisors on a hike (or hikes), take attendance, and record miles/routes. We also encourage hiking coordinators to become Hiking Merit Badge counselors as well.

Currently, we run approximately 8-9 hikes, usually beginning with participation in the Potawatomi hike in late-March and ending with the 20-mile hike (the final hike required for the Hiking Merit Badge) in October. There are a variety of hike lengths (5, 10, 15, and 20) and with enough volunteers, it could be a commitment of just a few hikes per season. We typically have an initial meeting in late fall to work on the calendar for the upcoming year.

We do hope you will consider joining the team! If you are interested, please complete this form (insert form link). If you have questions, feel free to contact me or the other hiking coordinators listed below.

Thank you!
