Venturing Crew 318 will be sending two Crews to Philmont in 2025! Philmont is an amazing experience and the ultimate high adventure.
This form is to apply to be a member of the 2025 Philmont High Adventure crew.
We will have two 12-person Crews, including 3-4 adults per crew. Availability is first come, first served. 5 adult and 14 youth spots are available. Payment of the deposit ($150) reserves your place in one of the Crews.
THE $150 DEPOSIT IS DUE BY JANUARY 11, 2024.
Payments can be given to Mr. Tabor at the January parent meeting or the 1/11 troop meeting. If payment of the deposit so close to recharter fees is a concern, please reach out to Mr. Tabor or Mr. Sullivan to explore options.
Philmont's fees for a 12-day trek in 2025 are $1,675.00. Besides the $150 deposit, additional payments of $762.50 will be due 10/1/2024 and 3/1/2025. Train and bus tickets will add an additional $600-$750 per person, so the
total cost person will be between $2,250 - $2,500. Fundraising opportunities will be available.
The Trek will be 7/18/2025 - 8/1/2025.
Venturing Crew 318 is open to all Scouts in Troop 318 who are 14 and above. For more information regarding the Crew see
this information packet. You
do not need to already be a registered member of Venturing Crew 318 to apply to be part of a Philmont Trek, but you will need to complete this free registration prior to the trek itself.
For the Philmont trek, you must be 14 by July 2025 to participate. You can sign up for the Philmont trek at a younger age, but only if you will be 14 by July 2025. You can go to Philmont as a youth in a Venturing Crew until you are 21. At least one of the Philmont Crews will be Co-ed.
