What is the SJMSBL?
South Jersey Men's Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL)
The South Jersey Men's Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL) is a premier adult baseball league. Teams are located New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Each year 75 - 100 teams play either Spring/Summer Season, Midweek Season &/or Fall Season. The SJMSBL use wood bats. Age Divisions include: 18+/ 25+/35+/45+& 52+. The South Jersey Men's Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL) is affiliated with the national Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL) and Men's Adult Baseball League (MABL).
Our Managers Dictate play…….
In February, Manager’s from each Division come together and decide (it’s a one hour meeting);
1. How many games in Regular Season (Season starts Sunday after Easter. No game July 4th & Memorial Day)
2. Do we play Mothers day &/or Fathers day?
3. Playoff Format (Playoffs need to end before Labor Day)
4. Discuss any rule changes
5. All Star game location and preferred date
6. MVP & Cy Young process
7. Waiver considerations
8. Potential SJMSBL tournaments
How much does it cost?
Average (Spring/Summer Season) player costs are approximately $200 -250 per player (includes League player registration and team-related expenses for umpires, fields, etc.). Managers determine exact cost. Uniforms fees are not included and are determined by individual teams.
Average (Midweek Season) player costs are approximately $200 per player (includes League player registration and team-related expenses for umpires, fields, etc.). Managers determine exact cost. Uniforms fees are not included and are determined by individual teams

Please Note SJMSBL players are eligible for Regional & National MSBL tournaments
Regional Tournament Team cost range from $500 -750 per Team
National Tournaments such as; The Florida Fall Classic, Phoenix World Series & Las Vegas tournaments Average $250 – 300 per player. This cost does not include Travel expenses, lodging, car rental, food and entertainment.
When do I have to register?
Player registration must be paid to the league prior to being eligible to play. Team fees due dates determined by individual teams.
What about the games?
The SJMSBL play a wood bat schedule. 25+/35+/45+/52+ teams generally play a Sunday morning (9am) schedule while our 18+ teams usual play an early afternoon schedule. Regular season runs from the Sunday after Easter through July playoffs are completed before Labor Day. No games scheduled on major holiday weekends like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. In addition, South Jersey MSBL registered players in our Sunday leagues are also eligible to play in our Midweek League (starts in early summer and runs into August), as well as our Fall League (Starts 1st Sunday after Labor Day through October).
How many games?
Most SJMSBL teams play 15+ regular season games, Managers vote on length of season. Playoffs are sometimes played on Saturdays & Sundays, Mangers vote on Playoff format/schedule. Most age divisions play doubleheaders, How many is determined by the Managers. The league also sponsors regular All-Star Games played at Frawley Stadium. The SJMSBL teams and players also compete in MSBL Regional and National Tournaments.
Where are games played?
The league will uses a variety of township, high school, college and professional fields throughout South Jersey, PA & Delaware. Team Managers are responsible for paying for and securing home field.
How do teams get players?
Our teams recruit players in a variety of ways, including ads in local newspapers, the South Jersey Men's Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL) website, and word of mouth.
What is the level of competition?
The league has many former high school and college players as well as a few former professional players. Various age divisions have different levels of competition, so that any player can find an appropriate place to play – ranging from semi-pro to recreational.
