Kildonan Athletic 2010

Kildonan eliminated in 1st Round

Despite holding most of the lead for the game, Kildonan crumbled in the 2nd half and allowed Indoor fire to tie up the game, forcing sudden death overtime with the golden goal.

Mike got on the score sheet with good movement and a slight touch re-directing the ball past the tall Indoor fire keeper to make the score 1-0.

pedro got the 2nd and Kildonan looked in control going into the 2nd half.

Then some silly fouls, slack marking and not understanding the rules of indoor allowed Indoor to eventually tie the game after Kildonan got another two from Mike and Warren.

Overtime didn't decide the winner, although Kildonan held most of the possession.

In the penatly shoot-out, Kildonan scored the first 5, warren, mike, adam, kris and devin hitting their mark.

Didi took the 6th shot and despite beating the keeper, he hit the crossbar which slammed down not over the line and out.

INdoor fire GK took the final shot and made no mistake to send them to the semi's against the first place team X Rated.

With the loss Kildonan now focuses on preparation for outdoor. There will be at least 3-4 exhibition matches as warm-up for the season.

The MSSL sees 1 team not returning, FC United, and 2 new teams joining, SC Oranje and Electric Shoes United.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Kildonan finish with a win

Kildonan deserved their 4-1 win on sunday to finish off their inaugral indoor season, finishing in 5th place.
Despite the best efforts of the match official to award nothing KAFC's way, but allow consistent tackling and shoves from behind, KAFC maintained their composure and went on to win.

Warren opened the scoring with a through ball and a fake by Mike who ran past the ball, allowing warren to steak uncontesed to the net and fire one into the bottom right corner.

The score remained until the 2nd half. 30 seconds in with slow bros having the ball on kickoff, a neat one-two pass allowed the streaking slow bros player to rifle a shot into the top corner, leaving devin no chance.

Mike scored the 2nd beating a few defenders and letting go a weak shot that beat the keeper.

Seba got the 3rd and Phil got the fourth, with a run from the KAFC half, beating two defenders and blasting the ball from outside the 18 leaving the SLow bros keeper shell shocked.

Drama still ensued. The ref awarded a dubious penalty shot to slow bros when he judged colin to have fouled a player with an elbow during a loose ball int he box. However the ref didn't issue a yellow card but a penalty shot anyway?

Kildonan killed off 2 short handed penalties, with the 2nd one giving Slow bros a lesson in moving the ball around. With AMp leading the charge, they killed off the penalty by passing the ball and moving into space for almost the entire 2 minutes.

One of the best games played by the KAFC squad as they head into the playoffs saturday against Indoor Fire. Indoor fire finished 4th but ended their regular season game by winning 19-2 against a 4 man STJFC.

KAFC only won 1 game out of 3 this season against Indoor fire, but the win and 2 lossed were by 1 goal only. The way Kildonan is playing, a more positive result is anticipated.

Playoffs announced

The first round of playoffs have been announced for the B side.

Saturday April 2nd is the first round with 3rd place vs 6th playing at 8:00 pm and 4th vs 5th playing at 9:00 pm.

Most likely Kildonan will be playing racing lokomotiv at the 9 pm time slot. Each team has 3 games left in the season. Kildonan's last 3 games are against teams below them in the standing, whereas Racing has to play 2 teams above them in the standings, Indoor fire and Sharks.

Depending on how many points Racing gets compared to KAFC in their last 3 means either team can finish 4th or 5th.

Kildonan finally win

Despite letting in 2 own goals, Kildonan fought hard and were on the right side of a 8-4 scoreline, beating for the first time in 3 matches Racing Lokomotiv.

Warren started off the scoring with a great individual effort, dekeing 2 defenders to calmly put it into the bottom right corner.

Seba from a new defender position broke down the middle and toe punted a shot that hit the top corner, leaving the keeper no chance.

Luis wasn't to be outdone and a brilliant individual effort he managed to bounce the ball around 2 defenders and create himself some space to fire in the 3rd goal of the night.

Mike and warren added two more but KAFC was hard done by with a deflected shot fired at didi found its way into the net.

Kildonan kept going and doing something they haven't done consistently this year, score goals.
Kris, Elijah and Adam all added to the tally with beautiful goals
With the exception of the last 10 minutes of the game, Kildonan played hard, improved on their passing and more importantly put the ball into the net when they needed it.

Amp was hard done by, taking a bouncing ball and smacking it one time that beat the keeper but crashed into the crossbar and bounced down and out.

Without the advantage of video replay, the goal looked like it crossed the line but nothing was called.

Next game is against xrated on wednesday the 23rd.

Game time is 7 pm

KAFC scrapes by with a win

Pedro from defense ended up with the game winning goal as Kildonan narrowly beat STJFC (what does that even stand for) in action at Coverall tonight

The game had plenty of chances for the boys in blue in the first half, with the forwards rattling off no less than 5 shots off the post or top bar.

Their first goal was a bit of a gift. Amp was carrying the ball toward the net and in an attempt to score, ended up shooting the ball into the, err' "kibbles and bits" of a STJFC defender.

While he held himself in pain, the ball popped back to amp who crossed it to an unmarked mike who made no mistake beating the keeper.

It ended 1-0 at half and a defensive error allowed STJFC to tie the game up.

Seba came on for his shift and made an immediate impact taking a low hard shot that beat the keeper and gave them the go ahead goal.

pedro got the third, overloading the STJFC box, the ball popped out to him on the far side and he slotted home his 2nd of the season.

STJFC got one back but Kildonan held on for the win.

Next up are newcomers Slow Bros at 11pm, friday the 28th.

Good effort,unfortunate result

Despite one of the strongest performances by the boys in blue, Kildonan was on the wrong end of a 2-1 result against the high flying Sharks.

Sharks were undefeated in their first set of games. They never scored less than 5 goals per game and didn't allow many per game.

Kildonan had some early chances right off the bat with both Seba and Adam missing the net on what should have been goals.

The game was a stalemate for the first 15 minutes, until Adam struck. A low hard ball from outside the 18 yard box made it past the keeper at the far post.

Sharks struck back quickly, despite some strong defense, but Kildonan couldn't keep out the tieing goal.

Kildonan had more chances throughout the 2nd half and they couldn't hang onto to the tie. With 4 minutes remaining, Sharks gained the lead and despite attacking for the final minutes of the game, Kildonan couldn't get a tieing goal.

Despite the loss, there were alot of positives on how the team played against the top team in the division. Devin in net played superb and the scoreline could have been higher if it wasn't for his key saves througout the game.

Up next is STJFC whom Kildonan beat in pre-season by 1 goal.

Thanks to Capt. Jack!

Thanks to new team member, John (Capt. Jack) Sparrow for cleaning up the KAFC logo!!!

Kildonan starts with a win

After finishing the pre-season schedule with a 2-2 record, Kildonan started the season off with a win.
Kildonan faced off against promoted Black Lightning.

If kildonan was expecting an easy time, they were shown quickly that it wasn't. Black lightning struck first when kildonan couldn't clear the ball.Kildonan tied it up with a penaly shot, earned by luis and converted by Luis.

Warren got the next goal, but black lightning tied it up shortly after.

The start of the 2nd half went well for KAFC. they went up 3 goals, Mike mckay blasting a shot into the roof of the net, Luis beating his marker and the keeper for his second, and Seba stripped the ball off of a defender who tripped over the ball and Seba grabbed it and all alone against the keeper made no mistake.

Unfortuantley kildonan let Black lightning get back into the game with 2 more goals and had to hold onto the ball for the final 2 minutes to preserve the win.

Next up is racing lokomotive. their pre-season match ended up with a 9-6 loss to them and Kildonan hopes to make this game count for them.

Kildonan can't get it done

Kildonan had to repeatedly tie up the game all night, but at the end leaked too many goals and suffered a 9-6 defeat to Racing lokomotive. < br>
KAFC was in the game until it hit 5. every time Kildonan would tie it up, Racing would take the lead right after

Once Kildonan made it to 8-6, Racing stuck the last nail in the coffin to seal their win.

Warren and Elijah notched 2, along with Myron and Adam adding singles to the tally.

Kildonan next plays on the 13th at 10:30 pm

KAFC start with a win

Kildonan started their inaugral campaign at Coverall with a win over Indoor Fire.

Indoor fire had 2 subs but kept up to the play remarkably well. Kildonan however was unlucky at putting the ball into the net, and missed at least 10 fantastic chances in the first half.

Luis goes down as getting the opening goal of the season. Aaron from the Kildonan Cavaliers notched one, and Sebastiaan playing in a midfield role, put away 2 markers, with one being the game winner providing KAFC with their first win.

Next up is Racing Lokomotiv, a team which comprises members of the outdoor FC Kildonan team

KAFC kick off Indoor

Kildonan will kick off the indoor season on october 27th vs Indoor fire at the Coverall complex in headingley, MB.
Kildonan will start off in the B division and depending on results, may stay in the division, move up or down.
This is the first season playing indoor as a team, so all of the teams are unknown.
Kildonan has 13 guys from the outdoor team, and have added 3 from the Kildonan Cavaliers in the MMSL, and a few other friends from team members.
All games will be played at the Headingley complex.

Kildonan exit playoffs

In a first for the season, Kildonan was held scoreless and lost 2-0 to the Rowdies in the 1st round action.

Playing in their typical "rowdies" style, shirt pulling, bodychecks, tackles off the ball, and subbing when the ref wasn't watching, the Rowdies took their 2 limited opportunities and got the ball in the net.

Kildonan had plenty of opportunities in the first half to put the game away. Crosses and the long throws of cody evaded the rowdies keeper as it made its way into the 18 yard box, but a kildonan player was never around to tap it into the goal.

Despite sitting 0-0 at halftime, rowdies started attacking right off the kickoff and produced the first goal in the first minute.

Their second goal was questionable as cody managed to get a fat lip trying to clear the ball and Phil was beat to the ball as the rowdies player got to the ball first.

after that it was dump and chase for the rowdies as shirt pulling and rough play managed to kill off the game.

In 18 years, i have never seen a jersey ripped from the neck down to past the chest, but this game managed to produce that. Hats off to sebastiaan and the rest of the team for managing to keep their cool, even though it would have been easier to retaliate.

Kildonan finished a disappointing 4th, compared to last season's first place finish, and failed to get to the semi's in the playoffs.
However the team looks forward to spending the indoor season as a team, and prepare for the 2011 MSSL Outdoor season.

Have a good winter.

Kildonan finish season with win

Despite losing twice last week to FC Kildonan and Manitoba united, Kildonan rebounded with a convincing win over a short bench SJR Team tonight.

Kildonan struck first in the first 5 mintues. Pedro playing as a wide midfield was unmarked at the far post as the ball was chipped over by sean and pedro made no mistake.

SJR got one back. a 50-50 ball with amp being last man back gave SJR the edge who walked in and beat devin to the far side.

After it was all Kildonan. Despite missing a penalty shot from Brutal Brokop sean would get that back and then some to finish with 2 goals on the night.

Warren had a beauty of a free kick just outside the 18. It swerved in and out and he struck it low and hard, leaving the SJR keeper no chance.

Warren added a second and Luis rounded out the goal scoring deking past 2 guys in the 18 yard box and beating the keeper on the near side.

Kildonan now faces the Rowdies on wednesday at Joe Malone. Kildonan lost both regular season games this year by close margins. Hopefully Kildonan will build on the success and book a trip to the semi's.

Kildonan rebound with win

Despite going down a goal early in the game again, Kildonan was able to rebound from this and score 6 enroute to their 6-1 victory over FC United.

Despite not doing a lot of pressuring in the first half, and understrength FC united side started dropping players due to on field injuries, which allowed Kildonan to capitalize.

Sean got the scoring started, beating a defender in the 18 and shooting past the keeper to tie it up at 1.

Adam got the 2nd, a slow header that he got up for and put past the keeper with power.

Warren got the third, after many unsuccessful tries in the first half. Lorenzo managed to get his first of the season. With both adam and sean bearing down on the keeper, he couldn't stop the hard shot that bobbled in front of the net and that lorenzo was in the right place to calmly slot it home.

Sean got the 5th by hanging around at the center line. A quick counter attack when FC lost possession of a throw in deep in the KAFC half, Sean broke out to a run and rounded the keeper and a defender to put it into the net.

Adam got the last goal, a nice one timed shot as he was falling down that beat the keeper on the near side.

Next up is OAH. always a tough opponent, KAFC has to play better disciplined soccer to take 3 points away from them.

Kildonan can't get it done

for the second time this year, kildonan couldn't get much done against the experienced Rowdies squad, and ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline.

After quickly going down 1-0 in the first five minutes, KAFC brought one back when sean was brought down in the box and was awarded a penalty kick.

Sean made no mistake and Kildonan held on to the tie going into the 2nd half.

Rowdies used a simple "dump and chase" effectively, catching the backline off guard a few times. the rowdies 2nd goal was one such move, that had the rowdies player cross from the right sideline to hit an unmarked rowdies player in the 18 yard box who headed the ball past devin in net to make it 2-1.

the third goal could be considered offside, but regardless the rowdies got the ball to the 18 and put the ball into the net again.

With this loss, it almost mathematically eliminates KAFC chance of regaining their title for 2010. The very best they could do is win all 5 remaining games and hope FCKildonan lose their remaining 3, to be level on points.

Kildonan has to face FC United, OAH, SJR, Mb united and FCKildonan for the final game of the season on sept. 7th.

The best Kildonan can do now is get as many points to finish as high in the standings as possible.

KAFC game called in the 50th min.

Despite having 40 min. left to play, the threat of lightning derailed KAFC plans to chalk up a win against an undermanned OAH side.

Kildonan was leading 2-0, 5 minutes into the 2nd half when the ref called the game. despite starting with 10 men, and then going down to 9 due to injury, OAH handled themselves well and caused plenty of trouble for the Kildonan backline.

Despite some numerous chances, kildonan wasn't having much luck up front. Mike made some good rushes into the opposing half and caused problems for the OAH defence.

On one rush despite missing the ball, a steaking daniel was brought down by a defender in the box. the ref pointed to the spot and warren stepped up and fired it low and to the keepers right to make it 1.

Warren struck again a few minutes later. an attempt to clear from the OAH backline found the ball settling nicely for warren outside the 18 yard box who smashed it one time low and hard to the keepers left side, just inside the post.

That gave KAFC the boost they needed until the rain and lighting came.

Next up is practice wednesday, 7PM at Art McQuat on maginot st.

Then 2 games next week vs FCKildonan and CSK Steinbach on monday and wednesday respectively.

Close call but KAFC wins

Despite going down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes, kildonan rebounded back to score 5 goals in the 2nd half enroute to a 6-2 final in kildonan's favor.

Kildonan was trying to rebound from their disappointing 2-1 loss in the derby match vs FCK on monday.

Kildonan seemed distracted and some defensive errors allowed CSK steinbach to pop in 2 quick goals in the first 10 minutes.

Kildonan got one back just before half time. Sean brokop, teams all time top scorer playing in his 2nd match of the year managed to fight off a CSK defender and put one pass the keeper to go within 1.

after a halftime cool down, kildonan went on to control the game.

KAFC was rewarded an early penalty shot in the 2nd half. Bas played a nice ball into the 18 yard box to luis who was surrounded by CSK players. Luis attempted to turn and was brought down, which the ref immediately pointed to the spot.

with both warren, adam and sean on the sidelines, luis was elected to take the shot. despite the keeper guessing right and getting a hand on it, the shot was too hard to stop and it went underneath the keeper and bounced into the top of the net, giving KAFC the tieing goal.

Luis would add 2 more well worked goals to give him his first hat trick of the season.

Mike mckay with another great performance was provider for one of luis's goals, and managed to get one of his own.

Bas rounded out the scoring by taking a long shot 25 yards out that floated over the keeper who was well off his line. Sebastiaan was very happy with his 2nd of the season.

Next up is Rowdies at Sandusky park, a make up game that was cancelled earlier this season. Their last meeting had Rowdies walk away with a 3-2 win, and if KAFC wants any chance of winning the league, they need to win this game and their remainders.

Joaquin Espernza (1) Sebastiaan Roovers (1) Own goal Kildonan finally recorded a win as they defeated FORT Rouge 3-1 at Joe Malone action.

Kildonan hit the net first 20 minutes into the first half. A corner kick found defender Joaquin who was way into the 6 yard box but unmarked. The ball hit the ground once and it was an easy header for Joaquin to score his first for the club and for the season.

No scoring until the 2nd half. A free kick from Phil bounced inside the fort rouge half. The FF defender feeling some pressure from a KAFC forward one timed it back to their keeper in an attempt to control it. However the fury keeper was way off his line and the ball sailed over his head and into the net to give KAFC a 2 goal cushion

A flurry of cards was shown to both teams 10 minutes later. Some KAFC players lost their cool on some cheap, classless tactics from some fort rouge players. Lucky to not have been shown a red for one KAFC player, the melee continued with more deliberate rough play and a fury player was sent off for his 2nd yellow.

KAFC needed to control the ball from there and despite allowing a player to go in and take a point blank shot off a corner kick, the scoring ended with a great passing effort.

Warren found himself alone and down the wing and after some neat passing and buildup, received the ball and found an unmarked sebastiaan alone in the center of the field, just outside the 18 yard box.

the perfect weighted pass was struck calmly by sebastiaan, leaving the fury keeper no chance as it was buried into the back of the net.

with the well deserved win, KAFC turns their attention to OAH on monday the 26th. Kildonan expects another tough match against them.

KAFC drop 2 points

Despite being up 3-2 with 5 minutes to go, KAFC allowed a corner and failed to defend it, and manitoba united didn't waste their opportunity to tie up the game.

Kildonan struck first, with both Adam and luis trying shots on the keeper that were parried away and behind the manitoba keeper.

However a streaking mike didn't waste the opportunity to follow the ball in and put it into the empty net to go up by 1.

Kildonan got the second one courtesy of a throw in. the cody patented long throw-in went past the keeper but a waiting daniel lemky headed the ball into the net to give him the 5th of the year.

manitoba got one back in the 2nd half, beating the KAFC defenders to the ball and beating youth call up brennan on the short side.

Luis got the third with another throw-in from Mike and luis heading home the ball on the far side beating the Manitoba keeper.

Manitoba got their second and finally the third with a few mintues to spare, leaving Kildonan with 1 point instead of 3.

Next up is the 2nd meeting against Fort rouge on the 21st. Their first meeting ended up a 2-2 tie for the first game of the season.

Embarrasing

Not much needs to be said about this game. despite going down 2-0 after the first half, the game wasn't out of reach.

Kildonan failed to play like a team. very rarely were more than 2 passes strung together. SJR controlled most of the play and were able to get into the 18 yard box, beat a defender and score.

the 2nd half was no better. SJR captialized on 2 corner kicks, with an SJR player coming in from deep to head the ball home at least twice, maybe 3 times.

There were a few shots, but nothing to trouble the keeper.

Kildonan was fortunate that Joshua from melrose U17 and Conrad came to play for us today. The team would like to thank both for their contribution

Kildonan now tries to get off of their 2 game losing streak when they face manitoba united next wednesday.

Manitoba is also struggling of late but Kildonan does not plan on taking them lightly.

Kildonan record for L

In eerie similarities of 2009, Kildonan's first loss of 2010 was to the Rowdies. The 2009 team had their first loss to the Rowdies last year as well, coincidence?

after coming off a strong win last week vs new comers FC United, Kildonan came out flat.

Rowdies got on to the scoreboard in the 8th minute. a header from a corner kick or throw in? doesn't matter, rowdies capitilaized and went ahead.

Kildonan tied it up late in the half. Defender Baba converted to a central midfield ball won it between center and the 18 and deked a few defenders and put a trhough ball to Amp "put me up front coach as reward for playing defense" Inthalangsy who shrugged off a defender and slotted it past the keeper to tie it all up.

2nd half didn't start any better. no control, no accuracy in passing led to very little shots at the rowdies.

Rowdies took the ball to the by line and attempted a cross that found itself in the back of the net at the far post, leaving Phil no chance.

Rowdies scored again. a free kick outside the 18 near the end line had the rowdies kicker shoot the ball low and hard, which made its way to the net underneath the 2 man KAFC wall that jumped expecting a high shot.

The ball bobbled and somehow went into the net beating a stunned Phil and giving Rowdies a 3-1 lead.

Kildonan got one back in the 85th minute. Adam was dragged down just outside the 18 yd box. Adam waved everyone off and saw the wall well positioned to cover 3/4 of the nets. With didi standing on the outside of the wall, Adam was shocked to see the keeper stand behind the wall, leaving the whole near post open.

adam didn't waste the opportunity and blasted a low shot into the net. The rowdies keeper didn't even move.

KAFC tried to apply more pressure and didi was unlucky when a corner kick found his head, but didi headed it just wide of the post.

Kildonan needs to shake off the loss as they travel to SJR next thursday.

SJR are the 2009 playoff champs and last year Kildonan took 4 points from them in 3 meetings, the first for the club in 4 years.

1st Half action vs OAH

Kildonan draws first blood w/CSK

In convincing fashion, KAFC scored the first goal in the first 10 minutes and didn't look back, converting 6 more in the first half and one in the 2nd to make it an 8-0 final over new team CSK Steinbach.

CSK could only field 9 players for the whole game, exposing a wide open middle to KAFC.
While KAFC didn't always utilize the space, Kildonan constantly attacked and daniel was rewarded with his first of 3 of the night when the keeper failed to pick up the loose ball, and daniel made sure it hit the back of the net.

Warren got onto the scoreboard by delivering a curling shot well outside the 18 that beat the CSK keeper inside the far post.

Pedro's hard work was rewarded by crashing the net on a loose ball that CSK failed to clear giving KAFC 3.

Mike got onto the score sheet by curling a left footed corner kick that beat the keeper at the near post, hitting the CSK keeper before going in.

Adam was rewarded by the well worked cody throw in that glanced off of Adam`s head to beat the keeper and into the net.

Luis got his first of the season, beating the offside trap on the counterattack. He only had the keeper to beat and with a CSK player breathing down his neck, still managed to finish.

Daniel got one more to finish the first half and the coach was happy, but stressed kildonan need to control the ball more and not run up the score for the sake of getting goals.

Kildonan did that for the most part, with Daniel getting his hat trick and Kildonan keeping more possession.

Kildonan did that for the most part, with Daniel getting his hat trick and Kildonan keeping more possession.

Both Gady, didi and lorenzo got into fantastic shooting spaces, only to shoot the ball over the net with just the keeper to beat.

Missing regular keeper Phil, KAFC had to rely on Amp in between the pipes. Not having many shots, Amp spent most of the time watching. He made one diving save to keep the ball out, and then complained it rattled his teeth and he didn`t want to dive again.

gentleman Luis offered to take over for amp, as he impressed in practice with his shot stopping abilities and was rarely challenged. He managed to stop one shot, and a CSK break almost gave CSK their first goal.

The CSK attacker beat both the defender and Luis and the shot was destined to go in, if not for the heroics of new signing Baba, who came out of nowhere and slid and hammered the ball off the line for a goal kick. No doubt making up for the own goal he scored last week against OAH.

A break awaits Kildonan and then back at it against Rowdies on June 15th.

The Rowdies are coming off of 2 straight losses to new team FC United and Manitoba United, but are always a tough challenge for Kildonan

2010 season starts with a tie

Kildonan started their 2010 season with a tie to newcomers, Fort Rouge Fury.

Kildonan had to add two juveniles to their squad to help with defense and a lack of a keeper. Both Joshua and Graham from the Melrose U17 did well in their debut.

the first 20 minutes had KAFC controlling the ball and trying to get it to the forwards, but former Cav's keeper Scott Keast, now with Fort Rouge, was quick off the line to break up any attack.

KAFC was rewarded with a superb run by defenders and youth call-up, Joshua. He won the ball in the KAFC half and ran for 20 yards uncontested, before unleashing a bullet of a shot from 25 yards out being Scott at the near post to give them a 1-0 lead.

The lead was short lived. Fort rouge came back and after working the ball into the far corner, a cross to the far post made it to one of the 2 unmarked fury players who made no mistake putting it past graham to tie it up.

Fort Rouge would score a 2nd and a comment from defender Amp who was catching his breath, "put me on midfield and i'll score"

Coach David appreciated the challenge and gave Amp his wish. Making some nice 1-2 plays Amp went all the way to the touchline and attempted to cross it over to the streaking Adam Meisner.

Adam was suprised and dejected to see the ball sail over the Fury keeper and land in the net at the far post.

Despite some late pressure it was all KAFC could muster and the game ended 2-2.

Next up is OAH who beat SJR in their home opener and will be tough opposition for KAFC who are trying to find their bearings.

Kildonan Kup winner-Ragnarok

The Kildonan Kup was captured by Ragnarok, who went undefeated in the round robin.
First match was Ragnarok vs Sparta. Ragnarok looked shaky in the first 10 minutes but settled down and went on to score 3 goals in the first half.
That's all they needed and it turned out to be the final score.
KAFC vs Sparta had a makeshift lineup, with former Josh C from the Cavs, Adam M and Daniel Lemky as trialists for the Cavs showed up to help the under manned side.
despite numerous chances from Adam, who failed to convert on 4 chances only to see the ball go wide of the post each time, the game winner came from daniel lemky. attacking a loose ball in the sparta 18, he unleashed a rocket that the sparta keeper dove to save, but accidently pushed into the back of the net when he dove on top of it.
the score ended 1-0 to set up the final match of the Kup.
with 5 KAFC starters having to leave due to other commitments, ragnarok spared 1 player and sparta spared 1player to play 9 v 9 for the final game.
despite scoring early, another goal by daniel lemky, it was all ragnarok as they were fresher for the 2nd game and outworked the tired KAFC players.
game ended 5-1 with Ragnarok holding up the "imaginary" Kup.
KAFC would like to thank both sparta and ragnarok for their sportsmanship on what was a fine afternoon of soccer.

Kildonan KUP

Kildonan Athletic will take part in the annual pre-season match up between Sparta FC, and Ragnarok of the MMSL.
All 3 games will take place at crocus park on saturday may 8th, starting at 1pm.

The round-robin winner will be crowned winner of the Kildonan Kup.
