Kildonan kicks off the first round of the playoffs against new comers, United Punjab S.C. at the U of  M indoor complex at 7pm.

Kildonan had a disappointing season, only managing 3 wins, 4 ties and 11 losses to finish in 9th place. They were tied on points with 10th place finisher, Manitoba United, but only claimed the 9th place spot due to the tie breaker rules, which saw Kildonan move ahead due to a better head-to-head record during the regular season ( 1 win and 1 tie).

Kildonan faces a United Punjab team that they failed to beat in two meetings during the season.

The winner of this game advances to the quarter finals to face off against 2nd place SJR, who finished 1 point behind FC Kildonan this year.

Kildonan Athletic is still trying to gel and fumbled this past week when taking on P.F.C and United Punjab S.C.

Despite going down 2-0 to P.F.C, Kildonan rallied for 2 goals to tie it up at the end of the first half.

Their work was undone with 2 penalty shots in the 2nd half, both on questionable "hand balls" where the debate questions is it ball to hand or hand to ball. Both cases the player was protecting himself, but the ref judged otherwise. Youth keeper Connor stopped the first shot, but on the 2nd PK, was unsuccessful.

P.F.C adding a 2nd to finish the game 4-2.

Against newcome United Punjab, Kildonan was undone by 2 quick goals and the wind. United took a speculative shot right at kick off that beat Luis who was off his line in the first 20 seconds.

United added another one 15 mins later, a long range shot that floated in the air. Luis mis-judged and the ball landed in the net. Constant pressure with the wind had most of the play in Kildonan's half.

The 2nd half was a different story with Kildonan now the beneficiary of the wind. They created opportunities and it wasn't until the 70th minute they were rewarded. A free kick well outside the 18 saw Seba take the left footed shot, aiming for the far post. The keeper got it but stumbled and let the ball drop from his hands to land in the net to give Kildonan a lifeline.

Despite constant pressure, Kildonan's shots were either at the keeper or wide and couldn't get the tieing goal.

Kildonan has another 2 game week next week, facing Rowdies Fc on Tuesday the 14th and United Punjab on the 16th.

Kildonan had 2 subs and found themselves trailing 3-0 after 15 minutes due to defensive and communication errors, gifting SJR some easy goals.

Didi got Kildonan on the game sheet in the first half, a long range strike that left the keeper no chance. SJR quickly tallied again with a free kick way outside the 18 yd box that Joaquin mis-read.

Kildonan improved in the 2nd half putting more pressure on SJR and were finally rewarded with a goal from warren, a low hard shot coming from the byline and finding the inside of the far post, but with 10 minutes remaining, couldn't tie up the game.

Next up is the new SJR alumni team, comprised of 18-20 yrs old on Tuesday June 30th at St.John's Ravencourt.

Kildonan faced off against the 2nd SJR team, comprised of younger SJR alumni.

Starting with 2 men short, Kildonan thought they could get the jump and get some early goals but SJR was resilient.

Warren broke the deadlock late in the first half to go up by 1.

SJR got their subs and despite the constant shirt pulls and body checks, Kildonan held their own until a defensive error allowed SJR to get a long range goal beating Devin in net, his first game back.

The game continued to get chippy and Jackson paid the price, being brought down in the box. The ref awarded a penalty kick with 10 minutes to go and Warren stepped up and made no mistake, giving Kildonan the lead.

SJR had a couple of attacks on net, including a corner kick, but Kildonan weathered the storm and finished with the win.

Next up is P.F.C on tuesday at  Joe Malone park and then on Thursday against United Punjab S.C. at ESP Complex.

Kildonan got off to a great start with a hard fought 3-2 win over Manitoba United.

Kildonan entered the match having a psychological advantage over Fort Rouge, having bested them in both contests in 2014.  In fact, Kildonan has only lost once in their last 7 meetings with Fort Rouge.

Fort Rouge entered the game with 3 straight wins and captilized on sloppy defending in the 8th minute to get the go ahead goal.

Kildonan seemed to settle down after the goal and had the balance of play in the first half. If it wasn't for the Fury keeper, Kildonan would have taken the lead on a few occasions.

Kildonan managed to tie it up late in the first, with Stewart doing some nifty foot work to get the ball to the byline and then crossed it to an unmarked Didi who simply had to move his head forward to put the ball into the net.

Despite more pressure, Kildonan couldn't get the go ahead goal and the score remained at 1-1.

Next up is FC Kildonan on Thursday at Shaftsbury Park. Kildonan was unlucky against FCK in 2014, narrowly losing both games 2-1 and 2-0.
