West Hills – The San Diego Force beat Grind baseball Tuesday with a final score of 17-16. Both teams tallied 15 hits as the game quickly got out of hand for the pitchers.

Similar to the last three games the Force have played, they started out from behind. Midway through the 5th, the Force were down 11-4 , but with a two-RBI double from #25 Alec Arnone and a couple hits they had brought the game to 11-9.

The scoring did not stop there, in the next two innings the Grind tallied five more runs while the Force three. The game was 16-12 heading into the 8th. #23 Kyle Sherrick roped a triple down the line to score one and  #11 Hector Carreon belted a two-run shot to right-center to bring the game to 16-15.

The bottom of the 9th started out with two quick outs before two walks and a single loaded the bases. #23 Kyle Sherrick drew a walk to bring the tying run home, leaving 44 JD Schaeffer to face a bases-loaded two-out situation. With a 3-2 count, he hit a line drive to left field to score the run from third and secure the victory for the Force.

The Force play again Friday at 4 pm at Oceanside High School in another Pacific Shore League matchup against the Invaders.
