Holbrook is the "SECTION 3" representative in the bracket. .... This is a "DOUBLE ELIMINATION" Tournament between Sections 1, 2, 3 (Holbrook) & 4 (Monroe).... First Game is Thursday at 7:30pm versus Monroe.... Second Game is Friday at 5pm or 7:30pm depending on Win or Lose on Thurs.... Winners Bracket plays Sunday for State Championship.... | None July 27, 2015 3:53:27 PM Entry ID: 2066608 | We started the All Star & Tournament Season on June 15th with 5 Baseball District 18 Teams, 3 Softball District 18 Teams, and 6 Baseball Local Tournament Teams. Today, 6 weeks later, we have 1 Team left playing....our 10yr old D18 & Section 3 Champions who begin the NJ State Championships on Thursday..... The harsh reality of this part of the season is that there is only 1 team who wins the last game they play. And while the ultimate goal is to have that 1 team in every division, the fact that our boys and girls got to play competitively for another few weeks into the summer, brought them experience, added practice time to improve their skills, and fun more than compensates for any championships that were not won..... In Baseball, our 10's Won D18 & Section 3. Our 11's were D18 Runnersup. Our 12's, & Juniors Finished in Final Four. In Softball, our 10's won D18 and went to Sections. Our 12's Won D18 and came within one pitch of beating Robbinsville and advancing to the States. In Tournament play, our 9 Red Team WON the Barnegat Tournament. Our 8's were in Final Four in Toms River Tourney. Our Major MIT team lost in quarterfinals at Manchester..... All in all a successful post season compared to most Leagues. Holbrook is very proud of all of our Baseball & Softball players. And we extend thanks to our Board Members & wives for their work on the fields, in the press boxes, with uniforms and in the stand, our coaches for their dedication and commitment these past 6 weeks, and to our parents for their patience, and putting their summers on hold.... And to all our fans who traveled to other sites, wearing Holbrook RED in support of our teams!!... Lets all now support our LAST TEAM STANDING, as our 10's start the NJ STATE TOURNAMENT!!! ...GO HOLBROOK!!! |

| Tony D 11yr old Update July 26, 2015 5:21:30 PM Entry ID: 2066581 | Holbrook's 11yr old All-Stars ended their District 18 run with a tough 11-1 loss to Toms River today. This team was depleted by injuries, having players move up to the 12yr old team and by vacations!! And they still had a great tournament, going 6-0 until today!! It just wasn't meant to be. But the future looks bright for them as 12yr olds next year and we are very proud of them. They didn't need the district banner for us to know they are champs!! Way to go boys. Great job coaches!! |

July 24, 2015 11:05:36 PM Entry ID: 2066545 | HOLBROOK'S 11yr old ALL-STARS will play for the District 18 CHAMPIONSHIP on Sunday against Toms River, at the Justice Complex!! (Time TBD). Our boys advanced to 6-0 with a 9-3 win over Berkeley tonight. Gavin Bonitz went 5 2/3 to get the win. Devin Foderaro goes 2-3 with a double and closes out the game. Michael Tamburrino was 4-4 with a 2 run homer, 4 RBI and a great performance in left Field!! Jake Hickman played Shortstop like Derek Jeter!! This team has made us proud and will bring their "A" game on Sunday!! Good Luck BOYS!!! |

This was the first tournament experience for these 7 & 8 yr olds and we know that they will be better for the experience. Thanks to the coaches for dedicating themselves to these boys and making sure they had fun!! |

The boys never gave up even though they may have been overmatched by older players throughout this tournament. Good job by the coaches, to keep the boys focused and we hope they enjoyed the experience. See you guys in the Majors in the Fall!! |
| Tony D 11's Update July 23, 2015 11:16:25 AM Entry ID: 2066500 | Holbrook's 11's certainly made last nights game interesting!! They got out in front quickly in the first inning on Devin Foderaro's 2 out 2 run single. Jonny Sefick added a 2 run home run in the 3rd (his second in 2 games) to put Holbrook up 4-0. Brick tied the game in the 4th, 4-4 on back-to-back homeruns and a 2 out, 2 run scoring double to right. Holbrook came back strong in the bottom of the 4th and went up 9-4 on Gavin Bonitz' Grand Slam Blast onto Berkeley's back field!! Brick never quit though, and scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th to tie the game. The last 3 runs were scored with 2 outs and the loss staring them in the face. Our boys still had some fight left in them, when, with runners on first & third, 1 out in bottom 6th, Bonitz smoked a bullet to first that handcuffed the first baseman, who threw home too late to get Alex Lovaglio as he scored with the winning run and a 10 -9 final!! Holbrook will next play on Friday vs Berkeley LL at the Justice Complex at 7:30pm. |
