| Tony D Baseball 10's July 21, 2016 10:43:41 PM Entry ID: 2076581 | Holbrook's 10yr Old District 18 Champions beat Somerset Hills tonight, 15-5 to advance to the Section 3 Championship Round on Friday night at 6:30pm vs Nottingham!!.... Home Runs by Conor Yurgel and Aidan O'Donnell powered the offense. Gavin Degregorio pitched into the 5th for the win, and Nicky Izzo closed out the game for the save!!... Section Championship Starts tomorrow, Friday at 6:30 in Brick!! Congrats boys...keep it going!! |

| Tony D BB 10's with EPIC Comeback.. July 21, 2016 9:11:14 AM Entry ID: 2076547 | Holbrook Baseball 10's stay alive and advance in the Section 3 Championships with an epic comeback!!... Our boys were down 6-0 after 3, and 10-4 coming up in top 6 for their last at bats. All they did was score 9 runs to win 13-10!!... Aidan O'Donnell, hit a bases clearing triple off the top of the left field fence just missing a Grand Slam, to get the rally started after a couple of Middletown pitching changes proved ineffective!!... As the inning continued, clutch hitting and patience at the plate got our boys close when Nicky Arena tied the score at 10-10 with a 2 out single to left!!... The game winning hit came on a double down the rightfield line by Nicky Izzo, scoring Nick Mellino, Conor Yurgel and Raymond Lehmann to make the score 13-10!!... Mellino shut down the tough Middletown hitters in the 5th and again in the bottom of the 6th to secure the win for Holbrook!!... The two teams combined for 23 runs and 18 hits, including eight extra base hits. There were eight pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.... A couple of Holbrook miscues and some questionable umpiring calls in the bottom of the second saw Middletown take an early lead, 6-0... Holbrook pecked away at the lead highlighted by a MONSTER home run by Ray Lehmann, that made the score 6-2. Middletown answered every Holbrook score with more runs in their halves of innings 3 & 4.... Way to fight back boys!!... Next game tonight at 6:30 pm vs Somerset Hills to advance to the championship Round vs Nottingham... Good luck boys!! |

Our Girls have now advanced to the Section 3 Championship on Friday, vs Bordentown!! They will have to beat Bordentown twice to move on to the State Championships!! Let's go Girls! Our NJ State Champion District 18 All-Star team lost to PA 4-3 in the bottom of 7th on a suicide squeeze... in the Eastern Regionals in Delaware!!... Great run guys hold your heads high!! |

July 20, 2016 10:49:35 AM Entry ID: 2076512 | The Holbrook 10 yr old District 18 Softball Champions play Game 3 in the Section Tournament tonight vs Wall in Florence at 7pm.... Our Girls lost a heartbreaker last night 8-7. They were down 6-0 and took a 7-6 lead in top 7 but couldn't hold on and gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th.... Our girls will bounce back tonight vs Wall again at 7pm!! ... Good Luck Girls!! |

Holbrook 12's were eliminated from the Tournament with a 23-13 loss to last years 11yr old State Champions from Bordentown. We are very proud of our boys who brought Holbrook its first 12 yr old District 18 Title in 5 years!!.... Holbrook Juniors held a 1-0 lead through 6 but couldn't hold the lead and were also eliminated from the Tournament with a 6-1 loss to Neptune. We are very proud of this young team who had 7 13 yr olds, that brought Holbrook its first Junior District 18 Title in 7 years!!.... Thanks to both teams for a great run and some awesome thrills along the way!! You made Holbrook & Jackson Township proud!! |
