Our Softball 12's lost their first Section Championship game vs Robbinsville, 14-4. Game 2 on Friday at 6:30 vs Lincroft.... Our Baseball 10's lost their first game in pool play, 7-4 vs Manchester, and now stand at 2-1 going into their 4th game vs Lacey on Friday at Holbrook at 6:30 |

July 6, 2016 9:47:41 AM Entry ID: 2075970 | Holbrook's 12 yr Old Softball 4-Peat District 18 Champions play in their first Section 3 Championship Game tonight at 6pm on Bartley 1 vs perennial NJ State Champion Robbinsville!! Robbinsville was very methodical in their 8-1 win over Lincroft LL last night. And Ocean LL downed Milltown 7-2.... Game 2 tonight also at 6pm on Bartley 2 will pit Lincroft vs Milltown, as the Sectional Championships continue on Day 2. Come out and cheer on our Girls and watch some great softball!! |

Our girls won the title last night 18-3 over Manchester to record Holbrook's 4th consecutive 10yr Old District 18 Title!! Solid pitching from Jack Weiser and Brandon Kinsman...clutch hitting by Jacob Tafrow, Jimmy Pica, John Cetin & Lucas Strong leading the offense... and a great double play by second baseman Joey Mellino kept Holbrook on top!! | Tony D BB 12's Win Homer Fest!! July 6, 2016 8:51:00 AM Entry ID: 2075964 | Holbrook's 12 yr old Baseball All-Stars slugged 5 more Home Runs last night defeating Toms River East 20-5. Jayden Toucher followed up his grand slam on Sunday with 2 Home Runs including a 3 run shot and had 5 RBI. Jonny Sefick with a 3 run homer, while Devin Foderaro & Steven Davis added 2 run homers to lead the attack. Davis also got his second win in a row with 2 1/3 hitless & scoreless innings in relief..... Our boys will now meet cross-town rival and defending State Champion Jackson LL on Thursday at Toms River LL at 6:30pm. Jackson beat Brick 10-0 to advance...Come out and cheer on our boys in what is shaping up as an epic battle of two undefeated teams!! |

| Tony D BB 12's Advance July 4, 2016 10:29:24 AM Entry ID: 2075897 | Holbrook's 12 year old Baseball All-Stars came out of pool play 4-0 and entered the cross-over single elimination playoff game on Sunday as the #1 seed against #4 seed Manchester. Manchester was not to be taken lightly and gave our boys a run for the money. Manchester jumped on top 6-2. Sean Yurgel came on in relief and shut down Manchester as Holbrook fought back with solo Homers from Michael Tamburrino & Yurgel to make the score 6-5. Jayden Toucher broke the game open in the 5th with a grand slam homer as Holbrook took a seemingly safe 12-7 lead into the 6th.... Manchester was not done as they put together 6 hits in a row including a 3 run homer and a double off the fence and then tied the score at 12-12. Our boys were not done yet and Steven Davis hit a one out single with the bases loaded through the drawn in left side of the infield to win the game 13-12!! Davis also got the win in relief as he stopped the Manchester rally in the top of the 6th... Our boys start the double-elimination playoff round on Tuesday vs Toms River East American at Toms River LL at 630pm!! |
| Tony D Junior Baseball All-Stars July 4, 2016 10:25:34 AM Entry ID: 2075896 | Holbrook Junior Baseball All-Stars win their second game 12-2 over Manchester today! Jacob Tafrow pitched a complete game for the win. The offense was lead by Jimmy Pica who singles & doubled and walked 3 times and had 4 RBI!! Jack Weiser was 3 for 5, Danny Keenan had 2 hits a 3 Runs scored, Carl Barth had 2 hits and scored 3 Runs. Lucas Strong had 2 runs scored and 1 hit. Tom Andrews also singled and scored. Defense was flawless and recorded all but 1 out..... In their first game vs Toms River, our Juniors had another strong pitching performance. Daniel Keenan pitched a complete game, giving up only 5 hits while striking out 9. he helped his own cause with 2 hits and 2 Runs scored. Jimmy Pica reached base all 4 at bats including 2 hits.... Great job boys!! Next game, Tuesday 7/5 vs Toms River East American at Toms River East.....Stay hot Holbrook!! |

All-Star Results July 2, 2016 9:01:48 AM Entry ID: 2075842 | FRIDAY NIGHT ALL-STAR RESULTS.... Holbrook BB 12's, defeat Toms River East American 11 -5 to advance to the playoffs as the #1 seed in Pool A. They will play Pool B #4 seed either Stafford or Manchester on Sunday at Berkeley LL at 12 noon.... Holbrook BB Juniors, defeat Toms River 10-3 in their first game. They play today at 1pm at Manchester LL vs Manchester.... Holbrook Softball 10's vs Manchester LL was suspended due to lightning/darkness. Holbrook is leading 10-3 in the bottom of the 5th and the game will be continued on Tuesday at 6pm at Manchester LL. |

In a close pitchers duel, our girls scored 3 runs in the first and held off Manchester's mid-game rally to win 5-3. Reese Miller pitched a complete game and recorded 9 strikeouts!! Our girls can win their 4th consecutive District 18 Championship and advance to the Section 3 Championship Series with a win tonight in Manchester. Game starts at 6pm. Good luck Girls!! |
| Tony D 10yr Old BB All-Stars July 1, 2016 4:33:56 PM Entry ID: 2075827 | The Holbrook 10 yr old Baseball All-Stars got off to a great start to the District Tournament with a 14-0 win over Beachwood LL. Starting & Winning pitcher Jayden Bonitz, lead the Holbrook attack with 2 Homeruns and 3 RBI!! Raymond Lehmann added 4 hits, 2 doubles, 2 runs Scored and 3 RBI. Nicky Mellino, had a Single, Double & Triple, scored 3 runs and drove in 2!! Michael Eidel, Andrew OXX and Nicky Izzo all had 2 hits apiece as Holbrook pounded out 19 hits, 7 extra base hits, drew 4 base on balls and scored in every offensive inning except the 2nd!! Holbrook pitchers, Bonitz, Gavin Degregorio & Mellino, scatterd 5 hits and struck out 8 in the combined shutout. Below, the team at attention during the National Anthem. Next up, our boys play Toms River East American at Toms River East LL on Saturday morning at 10am!! Good luck boys!! |
| Tony D HB 12's WIN 14-10 June 29, 2016 11:51:25 PM Entry ID: 2075796 | The Holbrook 12's slugged 4 homeruns tonight to wipe out 6-2, 7-4, and finally a 10-9 deficit to win 14-10!! Gavin Kus with a 2 run homer in the 4th to close to 7-6. Sean Yurgel's 3 run homer put HB up 9-7 in the 5th. Brick went up 10-9 on a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 5th....Batting in the top of the 6th, Holbrook wasn't done yet as Devin Foderaro hit a 3-run Homer to put Holbrook up 12-10!!. Dallas Weisse's 2 run homer made it 14-10 to give our boys some breathing room!! Tai Mann pitched 4 2/3 innings to get his 2nd win of the tournament and Jayden Toucher closed out the game and got the save!! WOW!! What a great win for our boys!! Next up, Toms River East American at Holbrook on Friday evening at 6:30pm!! |

The Thunder started the playoffs as the #6 seed and defeated the #1 team, the #3 team and finally the #2 team to claim the Championship!! The Stormchasers also had a great season, finishing in 2nd place for the regular season & as the Championship Runner-ups!! Congratulations to all the boys and coaches. |

Jayden Toucher & Sean Yurgel led Holbrook's offense. Toucher with a Homerun, 2 hits and 3 runs scored, Yurgel with a Homerun, 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Jake Hickman got the win, striking out 5. Toucher closed the game striking out 5 of the 6 outs he recorded. Next up for our boys is Brick LL on Wed at 7pm at Brick LL on Cherry Quay Rd. Keep up the good work boys!! |

In our first ever Minor League Softball Championship Game, the Kentucky Wildcats edged out the Florida Gators, 14-13 in a see-saw battle. The outcome wasn't decided until the last out as the game ended with the tying run on 3rd for Florida. Congratulations to both teams, as well as the LSU Tigers, Maryland Terrapins and Michigan Wolverines on a great season and a very competitive and fun Tournament Series. Well done girls & coaches!! |
